So getting ready to go on vacation soon and was curious on how Trichlor tabs work with the pool math app.

I understand each tabs should be around 8oz, using the app and going from 4FC to 8FC is only 7oz of Trichlor (Essentially 1 Tab)

If I’m currently losing 4 FC per day and am unsure of how long a tab takes to dissolve approximately how many Tabs would I need for a week? 10 days?

Or do I shoot for the slam value and that comes up with 35oz of trichlor?

Any help is appreciated

Any chance you could toss a tarp and water weight cover on that puppy, bring it up to SLAM level with LC and you most likely could come home to clean water. I mean, unless your vacation is a *lot* longer than mine.... which max out at 17 days??

Better yet a Salt Water Chlorine Generator (SWG) is the bomb dot com! I close my cover, leave the pump & SWG on and return to sparkle.

Are u going to put them in a floater?
If so probably only 3 or 4 will fit - if left wide open I usually come home to some still undissolved tabs in mine after a week away. They are more like insurance against falling below minimum- not the main source of chlorination.
I would raise to slam level w/ liquid chlorine not trichlor.
That plus the floater should get u through for a week.
Or u can dose for how much fc u go through a day x’s how many days u will be away + the floater. I wouldn’t go past mustard algae level which is 29 for cya of 50.
As Maddie said - a cover would also greatly reduce fc loss while u are away.

We usually also have our in-laws come by mid week or so to check the mail & be sure our house hasn’t exploded 🤣 they check the skimmer too & would be able to pour in a little bleach if i needed.
