We are in for several days of rain. Should I leave the cover pump on my automatic cover while it’s raining? The pump plug sits outside so I am not sure if this is safe, but don’t want to damage the cover either. It’s a little giant pump. Thoughts?

Wrap the connection with electrical tape and you should be good. Most of the pumps I see just leave it laying without any tape.

What? You don't want the free water? What are your chem levels? CH & CYA in appropriate range? When it rains here in Las Vegas, and I mean rarely, I leave the cover open to get some free water. I know, sorry, I am a broken record in this regards.
Well, I live in minnesota so my pool is shut down until May. Good idea for the summer though!!
