Pool Contract - Pool Builder's Repetitive Mistakes

If it helps any, I was told 2 January's ago not to worry about it and they'd get it done right away. I'm currently here. 20220307_135704.jpg

The old above ground pool is torn down and we had the fence done done in prep for the inground pool. When it's done, it will be a boring rectangle without the multiple levels and all the WOWZERS you have going on. Oh yeah, it also breaks my heart to say that it will be sans lazy river.

I could fire my guy tomorrow and all it would do is put me dead last on somebody else's list, as they have their own customers who've waited like me. And I specifically did not hire those companies for reasons in the first place. In your case, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to take over another companies build. It's a nightmare for them down the road if something goes wrong. Most would only touch it if they ripped it out and started over from scratch.

Stay the course.
Hang in there. :)

Newdude,
Wow! You have waited a long time. It will definitely be worth it though. No....not just no boring ole' rectangle. "WOWZERS" you're too funny. The guys came today to rip out the splitface tile. Now, they will come back to grind it down, lay a coat of cement, thin set, waterproof membrane and then the tile. It turned my stomach watching them rip out the tile that they just put in December. I've already picked out the new material. So, that's over with at least. I did receive a surprise from my cousin today by email. She's getting married on June 15th in the Virgin Islands and bought me a round trip plane ticket to go and asked me to be in the wedding. St. Thomas is my favorite port when we cruise. It's absolutely breath taking.
It's supposed to rain here all week.

Sound like Dirk paid off again. 5 times over. He's magical, ain't he ? 😁

This is build #2 for me. Last time the setbacks were gut punches. They were entirely erased with the first cannonball. I would try to complain to friends over for a swim day and they refused to hear one word of it. 'Stuff takes time to do, and look at WHAT you DID !!!' By the 10th time, I believed it too. This one is taking a minute because of the shortages last year and now the winter is still holding on here. But. My guy did SO right by me last time when i didnt know squat and he could have taken me for a ride. I'll wait patiently this time for both those reasons.

I mean. It wouldnt hurt if Dirk gave me a little magic either, you know ?

The material sequence is mortar to smooth the surface, waterproof membrane, thinset, tile, grout.

Good morning TFP family,
Update: the guys came yeserday and grinded down all the thin set from the walls. I picked out all the materials. "Here we go again on my own...." (with my pretend guitar). Hey, it's one step forward. I hope y'all have an a-MAY-zing day!
Kimkats - our 13 year old son decided he wanted to go with me. So, I purchased him a plane ticket on Tuesday night. We've so excited. St. Thomas is absolutely stunning. I'm aiming for that color of pool water. :)

Ha. It's a description of what happened in post #93 that we all 'liked'. I can't see the stuff in post 95 either. Pretty sure it's just code error kinda stuff like the blue text above them.

I just want to add newdude, for your build I see amazing space and potential. You already have the frame (aka fence) completed and we all wait to see your pool come to life.
