I am in Ontario Canada with temps drops to -30C/-22F in winter. I drained the water to below returns and flushed out all lines, heater, filter etc. I have a question about the lights. As you can see they are right below the water level.

Should I pull the lights out of niche and let them hang in the water or attach some light weight so they go a bit down (below frozen water) or leave them as is?

I’m I didn’t winterized the conduit that’s behind the niche, do I need to do anything? I don’t recall the guy doing anything with the lights when I got someone to close my pool last year.

I'd leave the lights in place only because you're upping the chance of a broken wire and the it'll have to be replaced altogether. Hopefully the precipitation will collect fast enough and bring the water level above the lights.
