Plumbing thread pitches?

I have a summer waves pool.
Very simular to intex pool.
I read some where that intex have special thread that doesnt match up but only to intex parts.
Is this true about summer waves pool as well?
If not how do i determine thread so that i can order a different return jet for my pool.
I called poly group and they said they didnt know take part to a pool supply store and match up.

I believe I read the same. Most manufacturers do it and it stinks. Heck, my Pentair SWG caps don’t fit the Pentair heater next to it with the same size outlets. They even proprietary-ized themselves.
