We double shocked our pool last week (I believe it was last Monday) and had FC counts in the teens for days. The past weekend our pool was still too high to swim in. PH 7.8 and alkalinity 110. We noticed green still accumulating at the bottom of the pool and thought dead algae. But now that our pool is finally close to swimable FC level the bottom is completely covered again. If we vacuum the pool looks immaculate. What do we need to do.

Well, your CYA (stabilizer) result would be helpful as well. You must not have put enough chlorine in it to successfully SLAM it since the algae remained.....

A properly maintained pool is no danger to swim in, even if you are at a shock (SLAM) level.

The above articles are a bare minimum, but should get you started. I'm not familiar with your test kit, but we recommend the TF-100 Test Kit ™ for reliable results.

Your Taylor K-2006 is the other TFP-recommended kit. So you're good.

Well, technically we recommend the K-2006C, but that's just a larger set. Test capability is identical.
