Hi,
i open my pool couple of days ago and notice thw plaster on the sunshelf was peeling like flaking off. I own the pool for over 5 years and this is the first time i experience this issue. Does anyone know why this happen during the winter? I have the pool open and close by professional pool company but they didn't know why either. I am reaching out to a pool renovation company to see what they can do. Unless someone know if there is a diy i can do.

That is spalling from a thin layer of water on the shelf freezing and breaking up the plaster.

You need to keep the water level either below any horizontal surfaces or at least an inch above the surfaces so that ice does not form directly on the surface.

The only fix is to replaster the shelf.

Thanks. I am hoping it doesnt cost too much to replaster.

Hi

Has anyone use a product call ezpatch to fix a plaster? I am thinking to use a small area on my sunshelf. I am hoping someone have use it and could let me know how it went. Ez patch 10
It works fine as long as you don’t mind the color difference. You need to drain the water down to use it though.
