Pipe under ground

Hello everyone. They started digging today but at they’re digging I notice there is a pipe underground it’s about 4 feet under. Anyone know what this might be? I hope it doesn’t cause any problems in the build. See attachment.

What is it made of?? Do you have gas? Did you do the "Call before you Dig" call? Do you have a sprinkler system?

What do the two ends of the pipe point to?

I’m in FL so there’s no gas. The PB did the call before you dig. We did have a sprinkler system but this is too deep to be part of it.

Do you know that Miss Utility came and marked out the back yard? I'd call again, personally.

He’s saying it probably an old irrigation pipe or something. I’ll keep you’ll posted.

I am in FL and some of our areas do get natural gas piped in.

Turns out it was a dead pipe. Prob an old irrigation pipe, phew!

Z can you share how they determined it was dead?

As we dig further they discovered the other side of the pipe was open and not connected to anything.

Not uncommon for construction debri to be there. Might have been a temporary water line.
