PH What's the Deal ?

I'm trying to figure out what the PH balance "MEANS". I know when my Chlorine is low I can get Algae, but what does it mean when the PH is HIGH or LOW? I have tried to keep it within reason, as my tests show, but even when I add the Muriatic acid, it doesn't SEEM to be doing anything. The readings go up or down but the pool still FEELS the same. No funny smells, algae, skin issues, hair issues, clarity problems, so what does a higher PH actually mean for me and my pool. Thanks in advance for your consideration to this matter.

Here is the deal with pH…

pH has a major influence on CSI…

Tucker,

pH causes longer term issues... Too low can be corrosive to equipment, especially heaters... High pH can lead to heavy calcium deposits on the water line tile and any water features..

Thanks,

Jim R.
