Like a lot of people it died right at 3 years. I really did like it and even at 250/year it is probably worth it.
I havent had a chance to take it apart yet to see if I can get it going. One minute it was working fine. Then the lights wouldnt come at all. I read that some found it was the swivel and for others the impelller motor. In my case the power supply seems to work fine, but no lights will come on the robot at all.
The only thing I didnt like was how the material on the cable started shedding plastic by year two.
I was tempted to buy a new cable, but at 285, if that isnt the problem, it is too expensive to risk.
Im tempted to buy another one that comes with everything and hope that using the new cable with the old robot works. Then Ill have a backup robot. It does seem dumb that the outdate model (SE) isnt any cheaper. If it was more like 500 I would definitely buy it.
Alternately the old cable and controller will work with the new robot, indicating the problem is in the robot.
Finally, I could just go in a different direction entirely. Is there another robot that people have settled on? I definitely want a cable. The cable bothers me much less than having to charge the robot.
