Pentair VSF pumps won't operate indepedently

If the Circuit Functions is set to MASTER CLEANER the circuit will only run when the filter pump runs. That is why Jim is asking.

Show us this screen…
Ah, OK. Here is the info for all circuits and the details for the waterfall.

This is the pump label I am looking for…

My pumps don't have that unless they are hiding under the bottom where I can't see them. These are the stickers that look closest to that but maybe not what you're after.

OK, that tells us you have Intelliflo3 011075 pumps manufactured on 09/28/2022.

So far everything checks out.

I think you need to discuss your problems with Pentair. The Intelliflo3 is Pentairs latest pump with different controls and it has had compatibility problems with some of Pentair automation.

In addition Pentair has had problems getting updates to the IntelliCenter firmware out.

I think if you had the older VSF pump 011056 model things woudl be working better.

Have not seen discussed what RS485 addresses the pumps have. Do they have unique addresses?

In case it matters (it probably does to some degree), the menu on the panel shows that pool/spa is set to address 1 and waterfall is address 2. I can provide any other configuration or wiring details/pictures if needed.

@ajw22 and @falcor

Does the new IntelliCenter actually show the Com port Address of each pump?

When you have the EasyTouch, you have to go into the pump to see the address.. The EasyTouch calls the pumps, #1 and #2 but that has nothing to do with the address stored in the pump.

I'd want to look at what the pump shows, just to make sure.

Appears to be on the app, Device setting and then Automation Config.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I see separate addresses 1 and 2 just like it shows at the panel, but it's not clear to me whether this is what the automation thinks they should be or if this is the pump reporting the actual value.

That's describing the touch screen on the pump, but I don't have a touch screen installed because I have the automation panel instead.

If you don't have the optional display on the Intelliflo3, which I always recommend people get, you need to put the IntelliCenter panel in Service mode and then use the Pentair HOME app to connect in by bluetooth to the pump to see the pump settings.

You should have a selection on your Pentair HOME app for IntelliCenter and a separate one for Intelliflo3 on the home or devices page.

That is what the IntelliCenter wants it to be and does not show what it is actually set to in the pump.

That was it! I got connected to both pumps and saw that both were set to address 1. Switching the waterfall pump over to address 2, as expected by the panel, got it working the way it should. I also get speed, flow rate, and power usage information in the Pentair Home app which was never there before.

Thanks everyone for your help.

It was a team effort.

Good work by all!

And you learned about the intellicenter2 website as a bonus.
