pentair vs flo error 19

TOOK back cover off and fan blade moves-doesnt spin like a top but does move ...am i supposed to put a hex wrentch in while holding onto the blade and loosen the hex nut? I put the hex wrentch in and turn it and the fan blade turns... it turns but not like butter...doesnt spin like a top...feels like it needs effort to spin more then maybe it should?

Which model pentair pump is this?

I assume it will no longer run or just will not prime?

pertair vs super flo...1 yrs old...wont prime..it starts and says error 19...i took fan cover off and the fan blade turns with effort..not sure if its supposed to spin like a top or not...i am on with support now trying to get it under warranty as it was installed 6/29/2021 by pool service....any ideas?

Likely an issue with the seal or bearings. I would not mess with it anymore and let Pentair follow through.

Be sure to keep adding chlorine and brushing the pool daily to distribute it.

Should be covered under warranty. Let us know how it goes.

didnt add water to start and it began to smoke so shut off and wont prime now.. i hear to use hex wrenth to free up rotor maybe but how do i get to that? I am so bummed.
Smoke was, most likely, the shaft seal burning. A bad seal will stop a pump from priming.
VSP motors don't spin freely like a standard motor due to the permanent magnets, unless the drive is disconnected.
If pump was run without water, may be hard to get it covered under a warranty.

i did add water in the basket..i meant in the pool i didnt add more water but i usually dont need to. the rear fan blade moved but not spins like a top.Anyhow i just was going to open the pool so did everything like i always do to start up and this happened.

i find it a bummer that local pool guys cant get out to check this for a while when our season is so short in colorado and i havent been able to open yet.Just had the cover fixed so it will open and now the pump issue. Can there be that manny pool issies in colorado ? I mean most pools have been open for summer already.
