Pentair Screenlogic Issues

Hello,

I've been having two issues with my Pentair Screenlogic app.

1. I can't connect locally. When I open the app I must quickly press Remote to log-in or the app will crash on Searching for System Controller (Photo 1) and I'll have to restart. End of the world, no. Annoying, yes. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app as well as resetting the network hardware.

2. My Pool Start/Stop schedule does not work. I deleted the original schedule during our SLAM and then re-added it with the attached settings (Photo 2) but it doesn't Start or Stop the main Pool system.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peter

ATX,

ScreenLogic does not really control anything.. It is just passing the info on to the EasyTouch, where everything is saved and acted upon.

For the pump to run several things have to happen..

1. The system must be in AUTO, and not the Service mode.
2. The pump's display must show "Display not Active" meaning the ET is in control.
3. The Pump "Type" must be correct.. In your case "VS"
4. A Schedule must be on.. It is normally the Pool Circuit, but it can be any Circuit.
5. Whatever circuit is on, must have a Speed assigned to it.. As in Pool = 1500 RPM.. (Note.. if you changed the pump type all the speeds will be lost.)

Most likely you have lost your RS-485 com port that controls the pump.. (What does the display show)

or

You have lost all your speed assignments.. Here are my speeds, just as a reference to Pump Type and Circuit Speeds..

My ScreenLogic connections have worked for years and I have no experience with it not working.. :(

Obviously, you have to have WiFi on, and you have to enter your protocol adapter address the very first time..

Not certain why you have to rush when trying to connect local.. my phone allows me to select either Local or Remote.

I have seen several comments on moving the protocol adapter away for the WiFi router. Some kind of interference..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks for the info. I fixed the connection by resetting the adapters. I'm still a bit confused as to why my Schedule isn't working. I don't have a screen that looks like your screenshot. Copying your steps below, I'll respond to each.

1. The system must be in AUTO, and not the Service mode.
-Yes, definitely always in Auto mode unless I'm servicing.
2. The pump's display must show "Display not Active" meaning the ET is in control.
-Where would I check this?
3. The Pump "Type" must be correct.. In your case "VS"
-I don't think this is an option in my app.
4. A Schedule must be on.. It is normally the Pool Circuit, but it can be any Circuit.
-Yes, see my initial screenshot.
5. Whatever circuit is on, must have a Speed assigned to it.. As in Pool = 1500 RPM.. (Note.. if you changed the pump type all the speeds will be lost.)
-Again, mine doesn't look like yours but in my app under Pumps > Intelliflo Pool I have the pool set as 2200 RPM

Most likely you have lost your RS-485 com port that controls the pump.. (What does the display show)
-where would I check this?

Thank you!

ATX,

My IntelliFlo pump has a display screen.. It is under a little door on the top of the control head of the pump.

What specific IntelliFlo pump do you have?? Show me a pic..

Does your pump have a small cable that comes from the automation and plugs into the pump? (Not the power cable..)

Thanks,

Jim R.

If you are on iOS and updated the ScreenLogic app to v7.6, my understanding is this *updated* version doesn't work for locally connecting to the panel. There are hundreds of reviews since early this week in the AppStore regarding the broken app with v7.6. The only way I can still access my pool equipment:

1. Made sure my wife's iPhone did not update to v7.6 (still on 7.5). v7.5 works normally.
2. I can access all pool gear using the Pentair Windows Screen Logic application.

I've submitted several emails to Pentair and received the somewhat generic responses everyone seems to be getting:

"Hi, we apologize for the trouble you've encountered with our app. We would like to understand the specific issue you've faced and work towards a solution that meets your expectations. Could you please send us a copy of your review and username at [email protected] for further assistance."

ATX,

Let's look at my list again...

For the pump to run several things have to happen..

1. The system must be in AUTO, and not the Service mode. Good
2. The pump's display must show "Display not Active" meaning the ET is in control. Good
3. The Pump "Type" must be correct.. In your case "VSF" After I saw your pump, I changed this to VSF.
4. A Schedule must be on.. It is normally the Pool Circuit, but it can be any Circuit.
5. Whatever circuit is on, must have a Speed assigned to it.. As in Pool = 1500 RPM.. (Note.. if you changed the pump type all the speeds will be lost.)

So, let's look at pump Type..

Do you have SLConfig app on your phone? You need two apps.. ScreenLogic and SLConfig.

In SLConfig, look under "IntelliFlo" and tell me what you see..

At the top you should see Pump#1, Type VSF... and below that speeds for each Circuit that is set up.

Thanks,

Jim R.
