Hi,

We received a replacement part from Pentair for a Globrite LED light that was out of warranty. They sent the part to our Pool Company and they are charging $620 for labor to replace it.

Is this amount in line with what others are being charged for labor to replace a Pentair LED bulb? The distance to the box is prob 75 feet.

Thanks!

Distance is not the factor.

Difficulty of the wire pull determines if they can do it in half a day or a full day. And they don’t know that until they start the job.

Is $600 for two men for a half day or day reasonable in your area?

I'm in Houston so probably! Although I don't think it will take more than 2 hours...I assume it is a hedge against all the things that could go wrong. They also said they were going to re-wire it to try a prevent this from happening in the future. I trust them but just wanted to get a second opinion. Thanks!

I've replaced my own Pentair IntelliBrites, 2x Pool and 1x Spa. I agree the pull is the hardest part.

In my situation, one pool light is 30', another 50', and spa light is 30' cord. I think with two people, lots of dawn dish soap (as lube) it would take about an 60 - 90 minutes to do all three of my lights. Its not "skilled" labor to make the connections. In Austin, I'd probably pay $200 for the job.

I recently had a microbrite replaced under warranty - i agreed to help in order to get it done now vs waiting until summer (the tech did not want to get into the chilly water so I did lol). Between myself and the tech, the whole process including 75ft pull took less than 30 minutes.

UPDATE: they came out last week. 2 guys. They did some rewiring and replaced the light. They were here over hour (not sure exactly when they left).

The light is not synching correctly and colors were off. They said it was due to a faulty light so they were getting another from Pentair and will install it this week.

Hopefully this one works. It post again once they are done.
