UPDATE: ISSUE RESOLVED! The pool builder did not install the second part of the WiFi controller needed to properly operate the Pentair Intellicenter. It worked intitally by a fluke, and when Pentair updated their App - without that second piece we were down for the count. We had a new Pentair WiFi controller professionally installed - a booster outside by the panel and a reciever inside. Works great. We are back up and running.

************************************************

Our pool and equipment was brand new in Fall of 2020. For the past two years our Pentair Intellicenter has not worked. Here are the issues:

1. Will not connect to Internet. This is an issue as the Intellicenter will not keep time, so we must periodiclly update the time manually to keep the pool pumps and features, such as cleaner, lights, etc., on schedule. We are also unable to start the heater, pumps, features, adjust the chlorine generator etc remotely. I called Pentair and they tried doing some resets over the phone, but couldn't make it work. I was informed by Pentair that the Pentair WiFi Module (?) supplied by the Pool Dealer was an older version of the module and no longer available. Of course we were a month out of warranty. Pentair told me that I would have to contact a pool company to come out and replace the WiFi Module with manufacturer's new part, but they woule not do anything for us.
2. Lights turn on and off randomly. It worked just fine for the first two or three years. We have no clue what is causing this. The Intellicenter was wired into the electrical supply and set up by the pool company.

Any suggestions on getting the system working again or even diagnosing the problems would be most helpful. We have been trying to get pool companies out here for a year but they are too busy building new pools to service existing ones. TIA.

We have a 20k gallon pool with Pentair VS Pumps, Pentair Filter, Pentair MasterTemp 400 and Pentair Intellicenter equipment.

Welcome to TFP.

To get your IntelliCenter connected to your home network you have three choices:

  • A new “High Power Wireless Link Kit,” replaced the EnGenius WiFi Link Kit (Primary Client Bridge) (P/N 522475Z). These new link kits (523557) began shipping with newer IntelliCenter bundled kits, January 30, 2021.The new kits have two (2) transceivers. One transceiver connects to the user’s router and the other connects to the IntelliCenter. The following is reported:
    • Connection range is significantly better.
    • Establishes a proprietary secure bridge between the two transceivers which automatically negotiates the connection.
    • Allows for auto configuration and formatting (plug and play).
  • Run a Cat5 cable from your home router/switch and plug it into the IntelliCenter board
  • Connect a Wifi bridge, like from TP-Link, to the IntelliCenter to connect to your home Wifi network
You need to get your IntelliCenter connected to your home network by one of those means and have it pass the Internet Connection Test.

Then you Add New Account on the panel with Pentair and login your panel to the Pentair server.

Thank you for responding. We did these steps with Pentair andf they said that there must be an issue with the Pentair WiFi Extender. They can't be sure. Of course we are just out of warranty and they no longer make or supply the model we have: EnGenius ENS202 EXT. I am unsure what model replaces it. They said I have to call a dealer to purchase the new one. It will not connect to the internet at all. I have a green light for the power, and two yellow lights at LAN 1 and WLAN. I thought possibly a bad port, and switched the ethernet cable to Lan 2, but get no lights then at all other than power, so I am guessing that inside the Intellicenter box there is nothing connected for LAN 2.
