If the cables run along the ground (most do), raise them up. In areas that have a lot of small "critters" I usually will run the cable thru some non-metallic flex conduit. Home Depot usually has 25' rolls of 1/2" for about $25.00. It is available by the foot as well. I seal the ends with silicone, but that's not always necessary. I've seen it in metal flex as well (usually aluminum) but I keep the other stuff on my truck so don't know the cost.On another note anybody have any suggestions on how to stop this from happening again? Maybe hot pepper spray?
Thanks that looks like just what I was needing...I purchased white flexible wire loom and keep all my cables off the ground -
We have pack rats where I live and wire insulation is basically like Twizzlers to them ....
If it was offered as an option for $500.00, would you have chosen the option or declined the option? It's more about running unprotected wires along the ground. Beyond just animal damage they can be stepped on pinched seems like a poor practice.
