Pentair 011018 vs 022055

Hi all,

I need some help with choosing the pump for my new build. I'm torn between the 011018 and the 022055. The latter seems like overkill, but it's only about $80 more so I'm leaning that way.

What's everyone thought on the two? Is upgrading to the 022055 worth it?

You will never know the difference in operation. If you want to spend a bit more then go for it.

IntelliflowXF - Plumbing

So the IntelliflowXF seems to be a great pump, yet I don't see any "normal" filters that can accommodate 3" plumbing, any thoughts? I am in the final work on my pool design would like some feed back. Certainly my return line can/will be 3" but will dropping the supply to 2 or 2 1/2" be a...

Does you pool have 2" or 3" plumbing?

It does not make sense to install a pump that needs 3" plumbing into a pool with 2" plumbing.

The 011018 is obsolete and have been replaced by the 011028.

Jim,

The main drains are 3" and the returns are 2.5". According to my research, the 022055 will accept 3" and 2.5". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Jorge,

You are not wrong, the pump allows you to use 3" or 2.5 " plumbing.. That size plumbing is somewhat unusual unless you have major water features. I can't see a downside as long as your plumbing is large enough.
