Paper wasps under cover

You need possums. One of the most underappreciated creatures! 😉
Oh, we have possums. And everything else, from groundhogs (whistle pigs) to blackbear. Haven't seen any wild boar yet, but conservation depth says they are here too (yum). If you Google my place on satellite view and back it off a bit my house disappears into the great green blob of Mark Twain National Forest.
I will try out that sulfer trick. I've heard that spreading agricultural lime (limestone dust from the quarry, mostly calcium carbonate) keeps them down too, but haven't tried it yet.
And there is always DE or dolomite lime (not the pool kind) which also has magnesium. I put that with fireplace ash in my dust baths and add to chicken and dog food for worm control. But covering acres with it would be pricey. That would do a number on any ground insects like crickets and such too, but wouldn't be an issue for flying insects.

I’ve had good luck with the wasp traps from Home Depot. Just hang them up ina tree where people don’t hang out. No spray needed.
