That's one thing I DON'T miss about having an inground pool -- the weird critters that show up in it!

They don't bother me. I just feel bad they they wasted so much time and energy testing the waters. Other than maybe a cool sip, they arn't going to find much they like there.

He looks none to happy that he was in chlorine for a while... I hope he got returned to some happy mud.

Mud salamander.

Wow a lucky guess !! We have some distant cousin version of that that aren’t as big, I just threw a dart out there. The color is kinda creepy but glad it’s harmless.

Neighbor just fished one of these out of his pool.

We are shopping for lawn chairs, beer, and pellet rifles on Friday. What could go wrong...

Does this count. He/she comes around a couple times a day to get a drink. More often than not its carrying its next meal around.

Boy, you southerners get some odd critters in your pools. I don't think I could ever live down there because of the size of the bugs.

@Jeff J. , you should see my decking. Currently covered in dead fire ants. Anytime we get hot dry weather followed by rain, they sprout wings, fly up in the air, mate, and then fall back down.

I’ve been having a lot of frogs get in the pool and die lately. Last night I set up a FrogLog and came out this morning to one getting out of the pool!

I actually do get swarms of winged black ants floating in my pool once or twice a year. They don't bite, though. Fire ants, yikes!

Oh, and I did sadly find a dead opossum and three babies, I guess from her pouch, floating under my solar cover a couple of weeks ago. I keep my yard lights on all night now, so hopefully there won't be a repeat.

We got our first crayfish this year. We get frogs from time to time. They'll hop in a night and get out by daylight. Wolf spiders are an everyday occurrence.

(Arizona critters say: "Here, hold my beer!") You wouldn't believe some of the bugs in the pool and in the house. They get BIG here....Some of them will kill you....

I found 5 very large centipedes on the bottom of the pool this morning. This year I'm being overrun by them.
