Problem: Power light flashes and heater stops. The D17 LED on the main board lights up. Circulation pump continues to function.
Temporary Solution: Heater can be reset at breaker and then hot tub is again fully functional.
Frequency of problem: Between two days and two weeks.
Overview:
About a year ago, an tech installed a new pump and used heater.
One or two weeks after that, the red power light started blinking and a reset was required at the breaker box. The problem continued occasionally.
New filters, new sensors were installed over the past few months to resolve this problem. Also, the hot tub light was unplugged if there was a leak and short there. Also, the pressure switch jumper wires seemed to be loosely twisted together so they were soldered for better connection.
A new heater was installed early December and worked for a week but then required increasingly more frequent resets. On Dec 23 three resets were required. So I replaced that new heater, as it appeared to be defective, with the old heater. The old heater functioned fully but then required one reset after a week and functioned fully (after resets) just like the original problem.
I was advised by the an online source that the new heater was likely the problem, so I returned it to the company and ordered another one. This second, new heater was installed January 3 and worked for about week and also needed a reset.
Original problem still persists!
What do we need to fix/replace to eliminate the need for these resets?
