OB Northern California (Roseville) Rehab / buried

It's been about a week since the deck was poured. Today the guys came by to wash the pool deck. I think I like it even more. It is a little dark ( hope it doesn't cause problems getting too hot in the summers)

It seems like the closer you get to completion the harder it gets. We can't make up our mind on pool finish.

Quartz or micro fusion? Leaning towards a tahoe blue

Price is about $8k for quartz and $9k for micro fusionPXL_20201212_004237934.jpgPXL_20201212_004226535.jpg

I have "Diamond Brite" which is a quartzite finish. It has survived 13 years so far in Houston.

Finally have time for a quick update. Equipment set is finished... I'll get some pictures tomorrow.

More importantly today was finish.

We ended up with micro fusion Laguna w/ glass and abolone. Tomorrow is acid wash and fill.

Everyone should go back to the 1st post and see where this all started! That looks awesome!!! You have come So far!!

Yes the 2006C will work. While you are waiting on it or the TF-100 you should pick up the baby test kit at Walmart if they have any more. The most important tests are the pH and TA tests. You might be able to pick a baby test up at the pool store if your Walmarts do not have them.

Here is a VERY important link for you:

You can also look up the brand of plaster you have and find it's own start up guide as well.

This is so awesome! What an amazing transformation!

You will not want to add salt for ~30 days, while the plaster is curing. Make sure you have some liquid chlorine on hand (aka plain ol' bleach, none of the scented or splashless stuff).

If possible, check your water meter prior to and after the fill, and limit water usage within the home while it is filling, so you can determine the volume of the pool. This is the easiest way to figure this out.

@lucky.. Around here, you can get liquid chlorine at Home Depot or Walmart.. but they have pretty low stock during the off season, I would check the dates. The local Pool stores should have fresher stock. Many of the Leslie's and mom and pop pool stores in the area have HASA chlorine in the four gallon returnable yellow crate. That has the higher concentration CL (12.5%)

Jeff

Thanks for that meter tip, I haven't done the exact math but it's looking 25,000

So it's looking we are in the range of 25,000. After the acid wash yesterday. It finished filling up PXL_20210118_165622581.jpgPXL_20210118_234526623.jpgIMG_20210119_160335.jpgPXL_20210120_015633067.jpgthis evening. Took about 30hrs , too late to turn the pumps. Will be firing up the pumps tomorrow morning. Here is a few pictures of the fill and couldn't resist a quick shot testing the lights

NICE JOB! That looks awesome!!!! Now remember the color might change a bit as the water is balanced and the plaster cures. When you think the color has settled to the final finish please share that wonderful pool here:

Make sure to list the plaster color and kind. Add in any things you had added, if any.

Update:
It's been a little over a month since we had the filled. Chemicals are doing great... We just introduced a polaris TR36 pressure side cleaner. I plan on using this as the "daily driver" tillI get my robot.

Since my last post we had the stone added to the pillars. Happy with results and color combo.

Planning on doing some more landscape work before we come back to the pool for the slide and water bowls.

anything else I might be missing? What solar pool cover is everyone using?
