O/B in Gilbert, AZ for 2nd time

YEAH on your step solution!
Out of everything on a pool, getting in and out is key. We have a handrail added to ours, too.
It is definitely important. We are not a tall family either. LOL! I had to put effort into that talk step. Our grandkids would have to climb out of the pool 😂.

I was imagining hand stands and kicking legs out and up and over and land on the deck!
If it takes rolling to get out, it'd be snagging your suit on something. . . .
And kids love to go in and out of the water! It's half the fun. I remember when my youngest was eight and he was in and out of the pool jumping into the deep end. 'Cannon Ball!'

What exactly does am expansion joint look like? Is it that white thing I've seen on some pools here? If it is, I've never actually seen one of those here.
The deck guy got back to me and this was his response:
Cracks are never a problem. The tile guy lays his tile at the bottom at the deck. You have cold joints in your cool deck top, those are your expansions joints, that is were it supposed to crack.
They do have the expansion joints going away from the pool beam, I was talking about about on the bond beam like the picture below... I have always seen a space there on other pools but maybe with vertical joints it will be fine...

So today our 2 oldest boys and their wives came to help get some of the backyard put back together. Got rid of concrete, piles of dirt, sod and got rocks covering the dirt to the gate. It made me to happy 😊. Then our oldest boy used a pick to try to break up some concrete and ended up breaking a pipe 🙄. I texted the plumber but never heard back. Hope it's not an emergency. 378A21DB-8FFC-465F-BC99-432428D4E73C.jpeg

i know the pain of breaking a pipe...when i had to dig out the spot for one of my lights a rock hit a pipe and cracked spraying water everywhere, i fixed it and had the plumber re pressurize....no yesterday when they were shooting the shotcrete, the hose busted the line again, but net to a tee this time, so now i have to repair again but this time its a bit more fittings and work haha.

glad things are still moving along and getting fixed.

my son would in a flash he helped me replumb last year so learned a lot he didn't do a bad job just have to stand over him making sure he doesn't try to go too fast
My husband thought is, they need to fix it since it's still their responsibility. If this was later on down the road he totally would but not at this point.
How old is your son?

I have one that would have been 21 next week but he passed away almost 10 years ago. We're going to celebrate his birthday this Saturday with a picnic at his graveside 😇.

I'm so sorry :( My kids are all far apart and the oldest lives in NC... she is 27, then 21 and finally 13 lol

We kind of have 3 families. My 2 step daughters are 33 and 32, then our boys are 26, 24, would be 21 next week, 19 and 10. Our youngest feels like he was jipped because he doesn't have any siblings close up him.

I like that all of mine were gapped where each one got to be IT for quite a while, then as each younger one came into the picture, they all got attached to each other (it's weird) lol my oldest and the other 2 will text and facetime each other ALL the time.... and when my youngest was little, her big sister used to take her everywhere so they bonded over the years, The hardest part now is she is a 13yo girl who worries more like an adult... she had a moment last week that she called her "existential crisis"... she told my husband "Daddy, you know I was 12 when pandemic started and NOW I am going to be 14 soon, I totally missed 13, like I lost a complete year of time... " she's a deep kid what can I say lol

They started tile today 😍. I was very helpful and went out a couple of times to point out crooked tiles. I texted the family group and said I bet in annoying him. My son said I needed to go talk to him or I'd be kicking myself later. I told him "talk" was too strong a word since I don't speak Spanish 😂. All I could do was point 👆🏻🤣. That is looking awesome! What thinset did you use? I recall the store recommending an epoxy-based that wasn’t in Aquabella’s instructions.
