Next Summer Upgrades!

What do you think is going here?
Lots of possibilities! Your house looks like it’s oriented just like mine, as I have a similar side yard with the exact same view. We have a massive red oak in that side yard area and for 15 years, that was my BBQ/smoking area, except I had my offset smoker up against the fence instead of the house. Other possible uses: a putting green or hitting net if you’re a golfer, but if that was the case, you’d probably cover the whole area. Whatever it is, let’s hope it’s something exotic!

@joeprunc do you mind sharing the brand of synth grass you installed? I’m thinking of doing the same in our backyard instead of re-sodding the area that was trampled down during construction.

Our pool was completed in January, the last remaining item is landscaping, which should be finished by the summer.

We found a patio set we liked @ World Market for a lot less $$$ than any others we liked.

Hi. I'm not sure but my first guess was shed--then I thought no, maybe a vegetable garden? Cutie pie dog. =)
Go with your gut! ;)

Nothing exotic, unless a shed is exotic.

Gah! I waited until January to order an outdoor table because the color I wanted was going to be in stock then. It ended up being discontinued so I ordered a different color, that had been in stock always. Had the table delivered and it looked terrible against the color of my deck. Had it picked up this am (lost about 300 in delivery charges). Now the alternate table that I like is on back order until mid September. I had offered my old table up on a 'no buy' group online and someone is coming to claim it in a few days so I'll be table-less on the deck this summer. Given all of this, I impulsively ordered the polywood dining set I wanted for inside the pool area, for fear that I would have similar supply issues. I started this thread last summer, you think I would have been better prepared!

Anyone else ordering and waiting on furniture? :)

Anyone else ordering and waiting on furniture?
We ordered a couch a couple of days after Xmas and they said 3 to 6 weeks. It's not limited to outdoor furniture as we are still waiting. Heck, it's not even limited to furniture. :ROFLMAO:

We were going to buy new outdoor furniture, but found a place that will refurbish our old stuff by sandblasting, powder coating and adding new slings. We’ll buy new cushions for the non-sling chairs. We have 2 table/chairs sets and 3 bar stools, so replacing all of that was going to be a significant expense, and I don’t know when we would have received it. We should have our “like new” furniture back in a couple of weeks at about 25% of the cost of new!

that is so discouraging :( We'll have to set our hearts on getting it for 2024 and we will be pleasantly surprised if it all comes early

We ordered our new furniture and the Castelle factory told us 12 to 16 weeks after we changed our fabrics to something they had in stock. We should receive it at the earliest, May 16th and at the latest June 13th. Staying hopeful that will be this year.

Remember when we used to make things in this country. I pray to God we have learned our lesson and we have learned a lesson that our countries economic and social survival will depend upon an ability to have good paying jobs making the things we need. Profit at the expense of our own well being as a country should now be painfully evident isn't worth it!!

I saw planters instore (before any demo) I thought would be perfect but I didn’t want to store them (planned on getting 10) and they were pricey so I waited. Well I went back and they were sold out. Online too. It took a while but I found other planters that were much cheaper but not as nice. Later I saw a builder I got a quote from show a staged pool and they have the planters I wanted. It looked great but I’ve decided I like my cheaper odd imperfect planters better.

Back in October, I built this simple rail top bar for my deck. I didn’t realize until after I built it I had grabbed ground rated pressure treated pine. It wasn’t until today a good 6 months later that the wood was dry enough to stain. 485328C0-1E43-4818-942D-547B9C68C857.jpeg

That looks great, clever idea. Kudos to your carpentry skills!

I need to install a tv in the pool house. I have been putting it off cause I don’t feel like doing the programming to add the new zone to the iOS app I use to control all the audio and video in the house. It’s boring repetitive work and the ocd in my won’t let me just use a regular remote out there. Lol.

I also want to finally get bistro lights installed out there. Just don’t know how I want to run them.

First I got to get cleaned up from winter and reset back up.
