Newly Installed Intellicenter Not Working Outside Scheduled Hours

Hello!

We recently had a Pentair Intellicenter installed and it seems to be working when the pool cleaning schedule is on. I've tried to use it outside the pool cleaning schedule and the you can hear the panel click, however the pump does not turn on.
The current schedule is everyday 7am-5pm to run the cleaning. During that timeframe, I can turn the "Pool" program on and off. However, outside those hours I cannot. Furthermore, the "Spa" program does not work outside those hours as the pump doesn't turn on either. However, during the scheduled cleaning time 7a-5p, I can turn the Spa program on, only if I turn the Pool program on to kick on the pump first. If in that time frame, I cannot just turn the Spa on.

Also, we have a second pump for a water feature, and an air blower connected to the panel. Both of those items work from the panel and the app whenever. It doesn't have to be in that 7a-5p timeframe.

The contractor is doing what they can to help, however it's pretty frustrating not to be able to control my pool outside my work hours. I'm convinced it's a programing error or a hardware issue. Out side the cleaning hours, you can hear the panel click but nothing happens to the main variable speed pump. It shows connected to the pump as the green light on the app shows the pump is connected, the LCD on the pump shows "Display Inactive" but everything is at 0 (RPM, GPM, kWh).

Any help would be wonderful! Thanks in advance!

dm,

I'm pretty sure it is programming also...

For the pump to run several things have to happen...

1. The system must be in Auto and NOT the Service mode
2. A Circuit must be on.. Usually the Pool Circuit, but it can be any circuit.
3. The Circuit that is on must have a Speed assigned to it.. As in Pool = 1500 RPM.
4. The Pump Type must be correct.
5. For the Pump/Filter relay to close you need to be in the Pool mode or Spa mode.. Just naming something as "Pool" as in "Pool High" does not put the system into the pool mode.

I suspect it is number 3.. Show me the speeds assigned to each circuit.. Below is my list from an EasyTouch.. You will have something similar from your IntelliCenter.

Also.. show me your schedules from your IntelliCenter.. here is mine from my EasyTouch..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Check there is a speed assigned to your POOL circuit...

i found this too...not sure what it is though. I noticed the Pump control is "unassigned" in the IS4#1 and that IS4#2 is inactive.

Pump Control should be set to VSF.

Do you have one or two 4 button remote controls outside?

Thanks! I'm new to the automation game so if I'm getting you the incorrect info my apologies. But I think I got what you wanted.

Your pump settings look fine.

Show me your schedules...

You keep on saying "get the pump to work".

What do you turn on to "get the pump to work"?

For the filter pump you should just be turning POOL mode on or off and not any pump.

The pump does not turn on when you toggle the switch on the app or on the panel. It's connected via the cable and says "display not active" so I'm told that means there's communication between the pump and panel. However, when I toggle the switch, I will see "Alarm Power Failure." But that's only outside the schedule.

Another odd thing... I turned the program off for Friday (yesterday) and it didn't turn on as expected, however I was able to turn the pool program on and the pump started up! But again, outside of the schedule 7am-5pm I was not able to turn it on. Makes me think it's the programming.

First, your pump CB should be GFCI as requried by code for safety.

You have two devices pigtailed together with wire nuts and connected to the LOAD screws.

One device has two red wires.

The other device has a blue and a black wire.

You need to figure out which one is the pump.

Remove the wire nuts and separate the wires.

Connect the pump wires to the two LINE screws that have the red circles. You can put the wires under the right side of the screw.

You are then left with the other device wires which you can put directly on the LOAD screws in yellow without the pigtail.

You still have not showed me exactly how you turn the program on and off.

dm,

For sure your VS pump is wired so that it only gets power when the Pump/Filter relay is closed.. This is WRONG, your pump should get constant AC power..

Tell us which of the knockouts. at the bottom of your IntelliCenter, is the one going to your main pool pump.

Thanks,

Jim R.
