Newbie Build - 27' Round AGP - Help Me build This OR ELSE

I think BAMM you’ll be swimming in no time. Every last inch of this build has been done better than the proverbial textbook. Hang in there the finish line is around the corner.

You can buy a shorter electrical cord for the pump, just measure the length between the pump and the electrical outlet and decide if you want it to run along the ground or span the space. If you run the cord along the ground and use cable clips to attach the cord to the electrical post you may not have a bunch of slack left over with the current cord. You want enough slack to plug/unplug the pump easily if needed.

Really pretty! I think you are fine getting more water in before you add anything.

How long did it take to get the pool filled to 19"? If the pool is filling really slowly, like this will take a couple of days slowly, you could add enough chlorine to reach 1ppm and brush the pool to mix it in. If the pool will be full before dark then just wait until it is full and you can run the pump. Once full, run tests for pH, CH, and TA. We know CYA and FC should be 0. Once you have your test results add enough FC to reach 3ppm, put the CYA needed to reach 30 ppm in a sock, tie it off and either hang it in front of a return or place it in your skimmer basket until the sock is empty. While the CYA is dissolving adjust pH if needed. Record the TA and CH results for reference, you probably won't need to adjust them.

Great thanks!

Im taking my jandy neverlube valve bodies out prior to gluing as recommended. Just noticed these are made of CPVC!!

Ive got these three cements. Are any of them appropriate? arrow 1148 says CPVC, but then it mentions copper. And Im not sure if any of threse are ideal for this PVC to CPVC connection. Need to come up with a solution fast as water is filling up. Thanks.

Oatey rain or shine

Also, i see the jandy valve has one end marked "IN". How necessary is this? Im asking bc if possible, I'd like to install them facing the same way. But wont if that's not ideal.

Gluing PVC to CPVC you can use regular PVC glue if you give it 12 hours to set.[ Or you can use the Oatys red can All Purpose Cement.

You can use any port for the Inlet on the Jandy diverter. The Inlet marking is attached to the top cover and when you install it orient it with the pipe you make the inlet.

According to this article you can glue them together but you must use cpvc cement. As for valve orientation I’m not sure, but if it has a back flow preventer then it would not work if you flip it around.

Ok thanks. Got the return fitting in. Though it was difficult ....

INTERESTING notation: Doughboy returns do not allow enough room to vertically plumb a jandy neverlube valve. The back of valve presses against the pool wall creating a bulge, and as such, the gasket seal against the pool wall and return is compromised. I eliminated the valve under the return, and cut it out. I dug below the grade and added a coupler, with a straight pipe to the return. Not sure if i can remove that old pipe from valve to re-use valve at some point. I also planned on adding a hayward union at skimmer and return. But return does not allow enough room for the union, and with the skimmer, it seemed kinda redundant since i had the doughboy hard plumb coupler.

This is my first attempt at plumbing, and the pump house was the first thing ive ever built out of lumber so I really dont know what im doing, feel free to stop me and tell me if im messing anything up. pool chem will also be a 1st.

Pool is about 8 inches from full right now. I didn't know what all to do since im past the 24 hour mark. So last night i diluted a container of clorox bleach into a 5 gallon bucket and very slowly added it to pool as i was in it moving all the water around by trudging in a circle, creating a whirlpool effect.

what should i be doing now. testing the water, or wait for circulation? ill have to break the kit open and figure that out.

ETA: just noticed the price of this pool jumped up about $600 since I purchased lol

It looks like you have enough pipe attached to the valve to use it again somewhere else. You could use it on the out pipe at the filter, since the idea is to prevent water from flowing back through the return.
