New to Pools. Very High CYA

So, been reading the cool your pool thread.

Can someone explain me how these water spraying/mist wands work, how are they cooling the pool, and why they do not raise the PH as much as aereration would.

finally can some explain if I did use one of these spray/mist wands when would the best time be in the humid Florida, seems to be some debate around this, or i just don't understand the science of it.

TIA

When a mist spray of water passes through the summer air, it typically cools off by a few degrees before it hits the water. The light spray of water is light and not hard enough to cause significant aeration in the water so there is little to no impact on the pH.

So I got the pvc pipes with holes, but haven't had to use it yet, as the rain and cool fron here in Florida brought my temps back down to 82.

Whenever they raise, I'll let y'all know if it works to cool the pool

WATERGURU

I know it's not sanctioned on the form, but I've been using one since I joined TFP, and it has been great, and pretty accurate (I have a Taylor kit to test it's accuracy)

For those interested in going that route, they have just made a new version, in which the cassets can test not only FC and PH, but they can test CYA TA CH as well.

They have also made a floating version in case your skimmer doesn't have the space for it.
