We recently bought a house in St. Louis, MO with a modest sized (12 x 31 I think) in-ground fiberglass saltwater pool. Although we closed on the house last September and had it open for about three weeks, we are looking forward to our first full pool season this summer. At least initially we are using a pool service. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the veteran pool owners here.
We are currently in the process of taking bids on a cabana/pavillion with a bathroom/changing room and a wood-burning fireplace. Not doing the whole outdoor kitchen thing; but probably will have wetbar and fridge. I was blown away by the first "rough estimate" bid - roughly 4 times what I paid for my first house which was admittedly some time ago. I'll be searching the forums to gain wisdom from others here.

Welcome to the forum!
Be aware that a pool service will not maintain the pool water chemistry to the levels TFP recommends. Consider transitioning to maintaining the pool water chemistry sooner rather than later.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
