I would not let them seal it tomorrow. You need a chance to clean it off first to see how it looks. If you do seal they will/should clean it first. You also need to find out which sealant they will be using.
So, I spoke with the sealant guy earlier. He has a choice of 6 products with warranties from 5-20 years. We are going with a German product called Lithofin with a 20 year warranty. He also applies dry treat, which I know is big over there and says it also a very good product. You could easily apply this product yourself if you wanted. I thought I if you want the manufacturers warranty though you need an authorised installer to apply it. He doesn’t recommend any wet look products but there are colour enchanting penetrating sealers that you might find gives you the result you are after.
I called off sealing the tile with the PB. They will be sealing the waterline tile and moss rock today only. I also pressure washed the moss rock to get as much dirt and loose material off it before they seal. Since I won’t be here when they seal it I did not want to take it for granted they would clean the rocks as thoroughly as I wanted before sealing.
There were a dozen tiles we had the PB replace today that “looked cracked”. I sent him photos to see. They took them all out then the PB calls me to tell me they were not cracked but veins. Still replacing though. I sent him the pics before they pulled them and he could have reviewed the tiles first but just went ahead with it anyways.
Fine with me though as those tiles did not look great. 12 new ones being installed today.
The new tiles look great. Glad they replaced them so quickly. They did not seal the waterfall, waterline or the coping but could be due the face that they had to replace a coping tile. Pebble is supposed to be tomorrow, but waiting on confirmation from the PB.
If at all possible be there when the plaster truck rolls up so you can check the plaster color and any extras you might have asked for. We have seen a couple where trucks to mixed up One had to have a full chip out but the other caught it before they unloaded it.
