I just installed a SWG after 9 years of dealing with liquid chlorine and I'm in the process of adjusting the chemicals according to the TFP guidelines. I've never actually had to add CYA because the few times it ever got a little low I just used trichlor for a week or two to bring it up. Now I need to raise it from 50 to 70. What is the best way to do that; I've read on this forum sock in the skimmer, sock in front of the return, and some members just pour it into the skimmer. Suggestions?
Also, once I add the CYA how long does it take to dissolve so that I get an accurate test result using the Taylor 100 kit.
Thanks.
