New Pool - Stagnation?

New pool has been filled for 1 week now (since liner install). Both skimmers and 2 of the 5 returns still have to be "cutout". Still working on the electric. What can I do in the mean time to ensure I don't start breeding mosquitoes, etc?

I kept my pool chlorinated and algae free for the past 4 weeks since my pump died. New pump was installed two days ago and the pool looks great. We didn't swim at all during that time since there was no filtration. It would have been safe since i was maintaining the chlorine, we just have no desire to swim with all the tree debris and dirt floating around in the pool.

My routine for maintenance with out a pump was to brush the pool to make sure the water was mixed, test and dose the chlorine, then brush one more time to mix in the chlorine. I dosed my FC to SLAM levels for my CYA which allowed me to skip a day or two between FC additions. Definitely not an ideal situation, but it works. My pool pH is very stable right now, so I never needed to add acid during the time i had no pump, but if i did the process would be essentially the same. You can't add chlorine and acid at the same time though, so it would just add another chemical addition and brushing cycle... brush, test, add FC, brush, add acid, brush again, done.

We are finishing up our build, see thread here: Signing Contract soon! Central Nebraska Pool Build

We had 6 days from when we filled to when we were able to fire up the pump/filter. I approached it by adding 5PPM chlorine each day, brushing as best I could to get it all mixed up and then running my dolphin about 15 minutes later to help filter as much as it could and also continue to churn the water up. It wasn't the perfect solution as the water did start to look a little cloudy by the last day, but most of the cloudiness was dirt suspended in the stagnant water. Once we got the filtration running I added CYA, knocked down the PH and brought it to SLAM level for 2 days. Water cleared right up and has been perfect since. I did to an OCLT the second night just to be sure I didn't have anything hiding in the water, there was zero loss overnight.
