Shame I didnt find this forum a few months ago while we were going through our bid and contract process. Lots of great information I wish I had at the time. That being said, we are already through contract and permits and hopefully will have a hole dug in our yard here pretty soon. The firepit and bench you see in the picture has been removed (city code issue on the firepit), but I plan on dropping one in there once we get past final inspection. Everything else is how it is shown on the documents. Also, removing the Polaris and getting a robot cleaner. This was meant to be a volleyball pool, so 3.6ft/5.0ft/4.0ft on depth. The 5 ft utility easement on the backside of my yard prevented the pool from being any wider. I plan on turfing the area behind the pool instead of landscaping it, and turfing the area past the patio decking. Would appreciate any feedback on the attached.

Welcome to the forum!
Be sure they leave enough room to install a Salt Water Chlorine Generator in place of the Trichlor feeder. Texas PB's are allergic to SWCG, but you will want one very shortly when you start having to add liquid chlorine every day.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

I will have to see if the SWCG is an option currently. Since we havent started construction, I can go back and make changes as needed. If I decided to go with the SWCG, would I have to change anything else? type of filter or anything else to go that route? Also, one other question. Since i am going with a robot cleaner, I assume I dont need the booster pump? I think this is only there because of the Polaris?

thanks again!

The day finally came. DIG DAY!

Well, its been an interesting day and a half around here. Starts out with a plumbing crew showing up at 7:30am unannounced and walking around the house, freaking out the wife. We werent on the calendar for plumbing until next week so werent expecting a visitor. Plumbers start excavation and they cut my internet cable, The afternoons work was run while tethered to cell until Spectrum could get here that evening. Later in the afternoon, they drag the backhoe scoope across my gas line and cause a very small leak. It went "unnoticed" until late that evening when the wife smelled gas as the crew was wrapping up. Call to utility and gas is off for the night. Crews were back out this morning. Gas plumbing crew and pool plumbing crew to fix gas and finish rough plumbing. By time inspection was done on new gas line and utility crew showed up (here now) ~4pm .. bit its all fixed and done and we are now waiting on steel.

Looking good! You can add the SWCG without changing anything else, but you will want to make sure that the system works with your automation. The booster pump is only for a pressure side cleaner, if you are using a robot you dont need it. On my setup I had them put a suction port there for when I need to use a manual vacuum in the spa or tanning ledge.

Well, its been a while since I posted an update so I thought I would share some new photos.
October 23rd, we were hit with a major rainstorm. Pull ended up with about 3 foot of water in it, and part of the side walls collapsed into the pool. Once it was drained and dried a bit, pool company as back out to muck out the pool and then a week later we had steel. It took 2 more weeks to have the gunite done and the tile and coping guys just finished up. Calendar has decking on the calendar for next week! its starting to come together nicely I think. Wife and I really like the tile choice as this was not a company option and search around, ordered multiple samples before landing on that selection.

I thought it was blue. Interesting how different colors look. I think that’s the same one @TexasRain used. I like the larger subway tile. We’re using 2x3 but in porcelain.

Coming alone nicely 👌🏼.
I see you You're in TX. Crazy how they let you built right next to the fence.
Here in NY. I had to be 6ft apart from anything (like if it has covid)

I have a 5ft Utility easement so the back beam of the pool if 5ft off of my fence line. Crazy thing is that all the utilities are run on the other side of my alley so we actually dont have any utilities running back there. We plan to turf that area in and use it for additional seating or lounging.

It is Blue. The pictures on the website make it look darker than it actually is. I think the blue will really look good against the darker plaster we chose. Hoping Plaster will be done mid month.

Looking good. Did you get it filled before our rain hit? The "scattered showers" they called for this morning have not been too scattered for me.
