New Pool Build Pearland, TX (Houston area)

It will look like a warzone for a few months and once completed it will be amazing. When I saw them destroy my already nice backyard I was like,,, how are they going to put this back together... In the end it will all be worth it :).

I can't wait to see your updated pictures as it is neat to see how other pool builders work.

Rebar workers are here. :)

PB said not sure how much height we will get with our bubblers on the 8" deep sunshelf. He didn't think much at all, he always does a 6" deep shelf and says we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully we will get at least a foot of height. I guess not all bubblers are made the same?

My PB told me my bubblers on a 9" shelf will be fine. They're plumbing them so I can control their height with the pump and will be able to run them stronger to get more height.

One nice thing about clay is it sure holds its shape better than dirt!

Yes, I hope it won't be a war zone too long. We desperately needed to do something with our backyard, because the dogs were tearing it up. This will be very nice and still give them space. It is getting hot and it's time for another walk for the dogs, but first here is a rebar photo.

Glad to hear your PB says that. Hope ours will be fine too. :)

Already on rebar, when did the dig start? Took 3 days to dig our hole before rebar went in.

Dig was yesterday. They finished it by 3:30 p.m. and that was even with lots of breaks to wait for the truck to come back to get the dirt. They would dig, load it into the truck, when the truck was full it would leave and they would need to wait until it came back before they could start digging again.

Also found out covered patio framing and post will be done on Friday. Gunite is still scheduled for tomorrow. Yay, moving quickly!

That is nuts. At this rate they will be done in a few weeks. Took us 3 months with every part of the build needing the city inspector to come out. Do you require inspections? It amazes me how they dig the hole yesterday, rebar today and plumbing then gunite tomorrow.

So I started another thread on bonding and will post this here as well. I learned today that there is more than one way to bond a pool. Our PB does it after gunite. They bend these tall loops down and connect the bond wire to it and then do the rest. Here is a photo of the loops and one showing how a loop is connected to the rebar.

I'm the type of person that asked lots of questions, needs to know how things work, and keeps an eye on how things are coming along. If I read it here and don't see it happening I ask. Our PB is being very patient and I hope I am not driving them too crazy. ;)

Looks nice! Time to walk around the pool and look for a thick, copper wire clamped to your rebar. If it is not there time to call the PB and make him come out and put it on.

Already had a lengthy text chat with PB and they do it after gunite, so we are all good, but thank you for checking it was the first thing I went out to look for. :)

I'm that way too and I think it's a good way to be. Sunbaby's builder came out to give us an estimate and I asked so many questions during the design/bid process that they thought I was shopping them and might work for competing PB. [emoji23]

Funny! Our PB wanted to hire me to be a PM.
