New pool build in Missouri. Finally started. First pool. Lots of pictures!

Got our PebbleSheen Ocean Blue put in yesterday. It was SOOOOO hot. Those guys worked their butts off. Paid them with the best pizza in town, water, and a few cold beers (after the job was done).

Acid wash was today and we are filling! A worker put one hose in the deep end and one on the sun deck to fill the pool wrapped with rags. I didn't know any better until my wife reminded me that the plasterers said that the hose(s) need to be in the deep end. I assume it is to prevent water streaks/stains. I moved the one from the sun shelf into the deep end about 15 minutes after it was placed there. There are some streaks that I hope are not permanent (last pic)! Thoughts? Even so, it probably would not be noticeable at all. I'm just a worry wort.

Things I read online say to stay out of it while its filling. Any real harm in letting the kids walk around in the water while filling? PB said it's fine.

I read that filtration system needs to be started immediately when the pool is full to the middle of the skimmer. PB says they will be doing this Monday. Is that ok?

Water looks a little more green than we had hoped. I read that the color/appearance can change quite a bit for the first several weeks.

No dogs but kids in barefeet=oh yeah!! The PB is the one holding the warranty card so have fun!

The line may take some extra brushing but it should blend in pretty good.

Seeing green at first is VERY normal. As the water gets balanced and the plaster cures it will change color. No biggie!

Equipment start up on Monday=no big deal really. Best would be tomorrow but no real biggie again.

Hey! Do you have pics of your pool now that it's been up and running for a while? We are considering Pebble Sheen Ocean Blue for our pool resurfacing!

@kgiryes here is a link that was started to showcase plaster colors:

I hope this is helpful!

Can't believe I forgot to update this thread when we were done! Sorry for those following along. Thanks to everyone here for all the advice and helping us through this (sometimes difficult) process! Here are a bunch of photos. I am toying with the idea of getting some type of insulating cover to keep it open all year for next year. We did our last swim on November 3rd (the Polar Plunge pics at the end), closed end of November, and we just opened the pool the other day. We couldn't wait any longer. Supposed to be 65 degrees and sunny Sunday here :)

Now we are on to getting our entire deck redone with composite TimberTech and aluminium rails! Yikes, it adds up!
