Good morning. About to start on a new adventure for my family. New Home built last year and we are getting our dream back yard. The patio is already completed as that was phase 1 of the backyard plan. Ground breaking should be in about a week

Welcome to the forum!

Others will jump in on design, etc. Watch your wallet, some members like to spend others money!!

I suggest you investigate your sanitation method -- Sanitation Jandy Fusion Chlor w/ Nature2. This forum will highly recommend to NOT use that system. You do not want to use metals in your pool as they build up, cause blonde hair to turn green, stain pool surfaces, etc.

See Pool School - How to Chlorinate Your Pool and Alternative sanitizers and pools--The Truth!!

Take care.

My wife is also good at the spending $$$$$$$ . Ok. I see the issues on the Nature2 and the Metals. Just sent him a note about changing it out.

Welcome to the forum Chad! I agree, ditch the Nature2. Not always clear why some builders push items like that (incentives, lack of chemistry knowledge, etc) but it will be a problem later. Since you are investing in automation, you might simply consider a good Salt Water Generator (SWG), or possibly a liquid dispensing chlorinator like a Stenner pump, to produce your Free Chlorine (FC). Based on how the industry cleaning methods are changing, you might consider declining the Polaris 3900. Pressure/suction cleaners rely on additional pump power, and require plumbing that may lead to future problems as the system ages. Many people are going with automated cleaners (i.e. Dolphin) that you simply plug-in, drop-in and let it run as you wish. Just a thought. But chlorination would be my biggest concern at this point. Great to have you with us.

So would the PB do the Stenner Pump or is that usually a owner DIY type deal? The Automation was more for lighting/Heater/Torches. Very good points and I still have some time to make the changes!

DUDE! Those torches!!! WOWER! I looked at your video but it did not show where those will be going.....more details please!

Now to the pool details:

-How deep will the pool be?

-How deep will the shelf be?

-How big will the shelf be?

-How tall will the wall of the spa be at the walk up area?

-How many returns and skimmers? Where will they be located?

That should be me started on tweaking your design! See I have not spent any of your money YET! LOL

There will be two torches on the back side of the Pool and 1 each on the 2 sides of the pool. He showed those to me and I feel in love with those vs doing fire pots or something along those lines.
POOL PERIMETER: 114 LNFT
POOL SQ. FOOTAGE: 650 SQFT
POOL DIMESPA PERIMETER: 22 LNFTNSIONS: 43' X 21' L x W
SPA SQ. FOOTAGE: 38 SQFT
SPA DIMENSIONS: 7' X 7' L x W
POOL DEPTH: 9 FT. I have 3 boys, so had to have the diving board for them and my famous cannonballs!
Shelf- 79SqFt <I dont know the depth, is there a recommended?>

Not sure if we can change anything at this time on the actual pool as the permit may have been issued this past Friday.

How deep is the shallow end?

-shelf-ask mom if she wants to be able to put a lounger or a chair on there...............and if she wants her fanny in, just out of, or over the water when sitting in said lounger or chair.

Kim:kim: (3 BOYS + you???? POOR MOM LOL)

I am so in love with those torches!

See if you can get your PB tell you just how deep he thinks is deep good for the shelf for a lounger. You might need a small step inside on the shelf to help with ease of getting in and out.

3.6' will be good for the shallow end but if you go to a 4' shallow end the slope to that awesome diving deep end will not be as steep. Just something else to think about.

The attachments go to stills of the pool.

I would keep the FusionSoft just don't use the mineral cartridge. That is what I do. I works great as a saltwater chlorine generator.

Looks great so far!

Thanks! The guys are artists for sure with the gunite! So question. Your statement is making me a little confused. I planned on just not using the cartridge, however, not sure what you mean by Saltwater Chlorine Generator?

The FusionSoft is a saltwater chlorine generator (sanitizer) with a separate mineral cartridge that puts metals into your water. It will work just fine without using the mineral cartridge and still create chlorine without it.

It fully integrates into your iAqualink control center and is configurable via the phone interface.
