Digging starts this week!!! So excited to get this baby in. Another question for the pros here...

We are going to do pavers for our decking. Thinking of doing enough for a walking area all the way around the pool and on the shallow end do a fairly large area for chairs, table, etc. Howany feet of decking is ideal around the pool in walking areas only? We've been told 3 feet by all the PBs we had but our landscape designer said 4 at minimum. What are the thoughts of everyone here?
 
Lay out some rope to mimic the walkway at 3' wide and at 4' wide.......can two people walk by each other on 3'. or is 4' better? Think about mowing along that 3' wide part. will you be able to keep the lawn clippings out? You could also see if you can sit a chair on the 3 and 4' area and still be able to walk around it.

Go 4, if doing fastened winter cover ( pipe & anchor hardware needs the lateral support..

Incidentally a paver deck install is technically not a safety cover per ANSI - standards.. just FYI


I prefer a poured perimeter 3 to 4 ft & pavers outside, better & safer cover install & still easy to get to a broken pipe.
 
Pool build has started! So far almost everything is going very well. I did notice tonight the PB only has 4 returns in the pool. Two in the stairs and two on top of the bench (exact opposite side of the pool). The PB forgot to put the other 2 returns in so I asked him to add it in. The response I got was that they can add one or two more but they were concerned with two more there wouldn't be enough pressure. Any thoughts on that? This would be 6 returns all individually plumbed into a 36x20 pool with about 16k gallons of water.

They know the layout so listen to them. Your builder & his team are competent. I have renovated many of his older builds.

If flow is weak, blow them out & save them for spare returns- one day a return will fail. This way you have no demolition. That’s a nice perk to independent pipes.
 
Here's one picture - I've also added a shared link for others as the pool build continues right here.
IMG_20180728_084439.jpg There is one picture I added that shows not a tight fit with two sections of the wall. This is in 2-3 spots along the same side. Is this something I should be concerned about?
 
Okay so lets make sure I am seeing this right:

-what is the black thing? It looks like it is between the panels in such a way they could not go together.

-how are the panels connected/secured together? I think I see something that looks like tape (black) and plastic nut and bolt?

-on the other panels does the white button go in the hole?

-are all of the ones like this one beside each other?

My thinking is there is an adjustment that needs to be done to get the panels in place so they look like the others BUT that is just my gut talking so.......take it for what it is worth. Have you talked to your PB about this?

Thanks Kim - I haven't spoken to the pool builder yet, just noticed it last night. The gaps I have seen are all along the same place and like you suggested, the white "plug" does fit in the hole on most of the other panels. The black thing is additional support brackets for the walls. Panels are secured together with bolts. The black structural support isn't the part that holds two sections of wall together. All of the wall is already concreted in at the floor on the outside up about 3-4 inches.
 
I am guessing the most important place to look is on the inside where the panels meet. Is there any gap THERE? That is where it will really matter as far as keep the liner in place when you come right down to it.
