New Pool Build - Conroe, TX - LOTS of pics! Come say hi Y'all.

It is raining! The first rain since we have had water. It makes the water look fuzzy while it is raining. ugh. Scared to test tomorrow!

Here is the area where we are going to put in the "shower"

Also I am really liking this idea to help make the shower a little more private - find 3-4 old, unusable surfboards and angle them in a crescent shape - so that you would be behind the surfboards when you rinse off. Not sure where to find old, cheap surfboards in TX - but I might have to start searching :)

Pretty pool with and without the lights!

How are the dogs doing now? Are they getting used to all of the friends stopping by? Have they been in the water on their own?

LOVE the surfboard ideas! SO cute! AND since it will be behind the fence your HOA cannot say a word LOL

Yeah - for some reason these are grossing me out. I want it to LOOK and perform like a shower. I am afraid someone would do more than pee . . . GROSS!

See with my ideas no one will know it/they are under there catching and disperse the water from the shower. It is more of a way to let the water drain to the yard before it goes anywhere else.

Dig down, put this a tank with hoses with holes in them in, put rock like they do for "real" septic, cover back up and plant grass over the lines and put what ever over where the water will go into the tank-river rock as they are smooth.

I agree NO solids allowed LOL

Wendy! These pictures are amazing! The night shots are fun, but of course tonight, I'm focused on the daytime water color. Oh I hope, I hope, I hope our water looks even almost as good as yours and Ozdiver's. But I know ya'll have the woods and so much more green around your pools in a much bigger space. Ahhhhhh, the true test of Blue Granite will be with my pool!

I don't have an iPhone, but most of my friends do. I know it takes better pictures than you're getting from it. And obviously, it's not you, since the pictures you take with something else look great. I think you need to tweak some settings or something. Maybe you've got the iPhone camera part set for macro or something. And still...... your pool looks fabulous in those shots, too.

(notice I've moved on to a new topic! Lol!!!)

Moving back to an old topic: your Pebblesheen takes up to a year to cure. Your pH will keep going up and you'll have to add acid to lower it.
The tabs you use in your chlorinator are acidic. According to PoolMath, each 8oz trichlor tab lowers pH by 0.2. Right now the tabs are adding the acid for you, but when you switch to liquid chlorine, you'll see the pH creeping up again and you'll have to add acid.

To give an example, I am adding 30oz MA every second day to keep up with my PS curing and me running my waterfall for 2-3 hrs every night to cool the water.

Your pool is GORGEOUS!! Lucky girl!! You are also cracking me up about the outdoor shower. Our pool came with our house and there is an outdoor shower with a hinged teak slatted seat that folds up and down. [emoji33]

Yes...aeration and lots of kids splashing in the pool also make pH go up.

Also yes, and other things can happen that make the FC go down in the pool...helpful if you've let it get too high with a SWCG or for whatever reason!

Marla - I am pretty sure you are right - it runs to the ditch which runs to our subdivision retention pond - which is usually completely dry unless we have major storms. My thing is - the peeing outside it happening anyway . . . this just seems more sanitary. We are pretty rural - we have aerobic septic systems here (not on city septic).

Im assuming as long as there is no soap going into the shower - then it is all natural bio/water/pee/no chemicals it will be fine. Same as my dogs peeing in my yard and me spraying the grass with water after - it also goes into the drain.

This post is making me feel so white trash - but it is already happening - I am just trying to class it up a bit.

zero issues with what you are talking about doing. the pee will be so diluted, no issues at all. like you said, no different than your dogs doing it, etc. don't worry about charcoal filters, etc. its just some ammonia, no worries

Hi Sunbaby, I haven't checked in on your thread for a couple of days so I wanted to say how good everything looks now. I love the stone waterfall and the spa and everything really! I especially like the photos with your doggies in. I love the re-claimed surfboards shower idea too. Good luck with that!

I was also wondering what you are going to to do with the large flat space to the back of the pool. Are you going to have grass there?
