Hello all. Art from in Laredo, Tx n have owned our pool for about 8 years but last year we got a hairline crack on white plaster We decided to replaster with with diamondbrite and redo all tiles. Still trying to get the hang of all the testing currently just go to Leslies.
We are think of switching to a SWG, Ozone generator and adding the black & Decker 1.5hp variable speed pump.
PB builder keeps insisting that diamondbrite will get damage quicker if we go with saltwater pool.
Please any recommendations help thank you.

Hello! Welcome to TFP!

What is is with TX PBs and SWG? A chlorine pool IS a salt water pool. The difference between using a SWG (does the work of making chlorine using the salt you add to the water) and using liquid chlorine (you pour it in the pool each and every day) is the amount of work YOU have to do. Liquid Chlorine adds salt to the pool that stays there until you do a drain and refill which should be almost never.

You do not need or want the Ozone generator. It is like snake oil from days gone by. It SAYS you don't have to do as much but that is really not the case as we have seen by many studies.

If YOU get your own test kit and keep the water balanced using TFPC as seen in this link:
TFPC for Beginners your plaster will last a good long time!
