New Northeastern Pa Build

Nice! I loved using a pumpkin seed with firey tail rubber worm for my large mouth. From age 7 to 13, every other weekend was camping and fishing. Being in FL, we have lots of fishing opportunities but mainly do intracoastal now for flounder, red fish, sheepshead, etc. We were going off shore with our bigger boat but after my back injury I couldn't handle the waves. We actually just sold it and it left today. Easier to travel down south and rent a boat for off shore anyway. We have a small pond on our property that has bream and a few large mouths in it but the big girl has been basically impossible to catch. I know shes a girl bc I was testing a new lure a few years ago and caught a baby large mouth! The bream are pretty easy to catch though. We had tilapia in there for a while but in 2010 it was so cold that the water temp dropped below 55 degrees and killed them all.

thats my new love. Surf fishing and inshore fishing! We go to North Carolina every year. I'm in the middle of tieing my surf rigs now. This year I'm learning how to throw a casting net for my bait. My buddy was in charge of that and hey aren't going this year. We went for blues and flounder last year and came home with our limits on flounder and like 50 blues. It is just so much fun. Last year surf fishing I caught 2 citation king fish my first night.

I wosh i had had a pond on my property! My uncle has a farm and has a true farm pond that is the houses water source. Spring fed. He has been stocking it for 10 years and properly removing fish by weight to monitor growth and numbers. It's amazing to fish.

Love it all!
Now where are the pics of the fish :). Man it's a beautiful thing to role up on a school of crappie and even better when the kids are not around and mom and dad crappie are hitting the jig lol
Can't wait for those pictures

i totally would have felt bad if it was spawn but I knew spawn was over. They were just so aggressive. I was deff in the area of thier beds cause I saw a lot of surface feeding of schools and caught a bunch of very very small ones. I'll get the pics up tonight. We r over my sister in laws swimming. Lol

Loving all of it!

So the Mickeys........what color and stone/material did you pick? When will they be there?

Will you cut control joints in the cement even though it is going to be covered with pavers?

Kim:kim:

kim same material. I got scared to contrast them. lol I'm way too OCD. No cuts are needed with a scratch coat. U can if you want but they usually don't. At least my buddy and his brother don't.

ok so mickey has left florida! due in tomorrow at the tile place. friday i'm driving down to pick up my tile for the pool and i'll be getting the mickeys also! very excited. the place that cut them said they came out good. they were happy wit the results. they said they are glad i went same color of tile vs contrast cause they said it prob would have been too much now that they are cut. kinda like hidden mickeys they said and that is what i was going after.

here are the fishing pics with some other pics of some of my grabs this season so far!

this was my crappie catch from friday.

i hate trout fishing but it is tradition here in NEPA. farm raised. they taste like poop i think but i got them for some old timers that can't get out and like em. these were caught by myself and my 4 year old son. his first time out for trout. funny funny night. i was just casting and retrieving with my back to him. i would cast for him and then i would have him sit on the bench and hold the pole. i hear daddy i have a fish. i go to myself ya ok. and keep casting. he goes again, daddy i have a fish! so i turn around and go ya kason. . . and holy cow his line is smashed in the water and the line is way off to the left. lol i said just keep reeling. i grabbed the net and he actually had it pretty much in already and grabbed it. he got it in himself and i thought he didn't even have a fish on. lol he ended up with 3 that night on his own with my just casting, but he got them in on his own and i grabbed em. good good night!

Split it up into as many different "pools" as you need to make ti work and easy for you. Then add them all together and call it.

Take your pool and use paint to show us what "pools" you used and the size of each "pool" and we will double check it with you.

Definitely not 26, mine's 27. More likely 20-22 ish just by the gut.

Now that is some GREAT eating, fish fry for a few consecutive days just need my hot sauce and tartar sauce. Thanks for posting, we have a free fishing day coming up on July first and we have an annual family competition and I can't wait. I'll be sure to post some pics

Awesome fish!! They are more colorful up north. Looks like you found the honey hole on the lake!

This was my most favorite catch! This was for my bday 2016. Hubby took me out on a charter in West Palm and caught this 3 miles off shore while more fishing. But just catch, photo, release

Break it up into areas that are easy to calculate and hand calc it. It's the best, most accurate way.

ok that's the plan for tonight then. cool. so if i make each section into a round use a circle pool calculator right?

nice pic! i can't wait to go again this summer! how big was it?

Do it different ways. Two circles (one on each end) and a rectangle in the middle. Three rectangles. We are going for an average here. The more ways you do it the closer we will get BUT we will still be off some so........

I didn't get a chance to measure last night. I'm trying to dig in my piers for the safety cover to attach to since there will be no decking around back side of pool. I'm using 15 36 inch long 4 inch pvc that sits at the height of the bond beam. They will be filled with concrete and the anchors will drill into them. Needless to say going down 36 inches stinks. I got 7 done. The other 8 will be done tonight. Tomorrow I got to drive down for my tile.

They have one person ones but it might be best to go handle one and see if you can use it on your own. It might be worth it if you can.

:( sad when you are NOT looking forward to going home for this kind of thing BUT in the end it will be SO worth it when you are floating with an adult drink in your hand!

Kim:kim:

Would it make any sense to drill two sets of holes in them and have rebar extend through them into the surrounding soil? They could be perpendicular to each other some distance apart but still well below the surface. Although they will be substantial by themselves, the outside of the PVC pipe is "slippery" and could migrate up perhaps. If you have something protruding out from the PVC, they wouldn't be prone to any movement. Maybe overkill but something I'd probably do as its easy.

kim,

as i was driving from stop to stop today i was calling rental places for one. 70 bucks for the day. i called my dad and said get it and he would pick it up.

then. . . . i thought to myself. i got 8 left only! "real men use shovels, but smart men use machines!" i opted to be a real man. lol

knocked em out! the last 3 sucked! darn huge pieces of rebound was right in the way! i had to over dig a ton! they were huge. i fee like gumby right now but it is done! they are deep enough for frost so all we gotta do it pour them.

my buddy threw around some ideas and the pvc is what him and his partner decided on. they do commercial excavation and utility work along with footers foundations and they are confident they won't move being as deep as they are. he said up here once you hit 33 inches deep about you are good. so we will see.

that is a good idea though. would have been harder to dig in and it already stunk.

of course my dad and my buddy show up and are like oh you are almost done, it must have been easy! i said ya now we are even for the 5 hours he spend on the hammer drill going through my 12 inch thick concrete foundation with rebar every centimeter. lol seriously 5 hours cause he kept hitting rebar. lol
