I think a lot of the companies are like that. They try to make everyone happy by showing some work. It took weeks for them to start mine.

I'm totally with ya. At the beginning it feels like things are just sailing along and then you start getting the trickle of work every once in awhile. After reading horror stories on here, I feel lucky that my PB is very open about the challenges of building during peak season. But still a "so close, yet so far" situation.
My PB told me today that electric Monday or Tuesday next week to be followed by tile and coping. If that's the case it will be 10 days between any activity being done to the pool. I realize I'm in the busy season for pool building it just stinks to have to wait so long between work.
Also, I have a concern with one of the plumbing lines for my water feature. The farthest line on the left of the photo in the raised bond beam area is at least a couple of inches lower than the other two lines. PB stated that the tile crew would correct the issue but I don't understand how that could be the case. PB didn't seem to have a clear answer for me with how they would address it, other than the gunite team left space around the pipe to allow for the repair to be made.

Can you move the pipe at all? Is there any way you can be there when the tile crew is there? Do you have it in writing when he said the tile crew would fix it?

The pipe is in the gunite but not fully encapsulated, it's like the that crew knew it would need repaired so they didn't completely cover it up. I have no reason yet to not trust the PB, just frustrated that it wasn't done correctly the first time and wasn't noticed by anyone during the rough in (including myself). Myself or my wife will be home for every step of the process, so you can bet we'll keep a close eye on it to make sure it's correct.
Thanks for alleviating my stress! Now if I can just get some work done on the pool..........

Awesome...its always nerve racking when "your" the one going thru things! When we were building last year I seemed to freak out about everything or so it seems looking back! Great news is that it all came together...stay diligent and don't settle for less than you payed for...
Went home at lunch to inspect the progress, pool is looking great. They easily fixed my plumbing concern and are probably going to finish the tile & coping today. I'm glad I went home and inspected the tile work because the tile cuts around the water feature pipes were not very tidy and would have driven me nuts seeing that everyday. The tile guy gladly replaced them when I asked nicely

Please share how they fixed that one pipe being lower. It will be a good learning tool for me.

They added another 90 degree joint to bring the pipe up to the same level as the other two. It was a quick, easy fix and you'd never know they had to do it because it's all hidden behind the tile. I did make them replace the tiles around the pipes because the cuts were too wide and jagged, but the finish job looks great.
Tile is complete, the coping is about 99% done. They ran out of mortar so they'll be back tomorrow or Monday to finish.
I love the look so far, my wife did a great job picking out the tile to blend with the Oklahoma flagstone and our existing patio. The crew today said our flagstone was much more colorful and pretty than most of what they had been installing lately (mostly tan/white).
I need to ask how they plan to finish off the area behind the flagstone. I know some of this area will be covered when the decking is poured, but the raised beam area will not be so I'm going to see if they'll install a thinner row of flagstone behind the big stones or just finish it off with a nice rounded concrete edge.
They will also be adding a few more small rocks around the big jumping stone so it's not sitting up on the coping all alone.

I couldn't stand the mess in the backyard any longer so today around 6AM I got to work consolidating all the debris into one area of the yard. Got all the rouge tiles, rocks, stone pieces, etc. all cleaned up and uncovered some more grass for the dogs. Started taking final measurements to make plans for the landscaping projects after the build is complete. Our neighbor services pools for a living and recommended I go ahead and dig up the crepe myrtle bushes behind the pool due to the amount of flowers we'd get in the pool. Wife wasn't too happy to lose all of our landscaping in the yard, but I see it as a blank slate..........and I'm dreaming of palm trees..........
