New Gas Heater, CH high in pool and fill water

I have a new gas heater coming for my 12 ft round vinyl "exercise" pool. My concern is a high CH in the pool (450) and high CH in my fill water (350). I asked the pool store that sold me the heater what to do and they recommended Scalefree. Draining and refilling the pool really is not an option. Any suggestions on preventing damage to the heater?

I am curious. Why would a normal CH harm a heater? Our pool water has CH that starts at 250+ and rises to 1000 ppm before we change out the water. And no effect to the heater.

The one item that can effect a heater core is a low pH. Yours as shown is fine.

Take care.

While all water readings are important for a healthy pool, the heater really cares most about the PH. Keep your PH in the correct range and it should live a long life.

What Hayward is telling you is where your pool chemistry should be but again, PH is very important.
