New florida build-2nd go around!

Hi Agd38 here are a few suggestions
Congrats, some suggestions if I may?
1. Speaking from experience. Put in a double door on one of the sides. I only had one door and ended up putting in a double door and another single door on the opposite side. I should have listened to my wife
2. Plan on plumbing electrical and water for a future summer kitchen.
3. Plan on adding solar and heat pump in your equipment pad.
4. Make sure that you have a very large equipment pad.
5. Put in water spigots in all 4 corners of the screen cage both inside and outside the screen cage.
6. Put in electrical outlets in all 4 corners of the screen cage both inside and outside the screen cage.
7. Go with a large outdoor space as possible. We have 1800sq ft of pavers and we wish we did a larger space. You will be quite surprised how much room tables chairs and lounges take up.
8. Run conduits for speaker wires if you plan on wired speakers.

Look at the 3 links in my signature bar for ideas. Post lots of pics

Thanks for the tips BrentR!
More advice needed :D
With 4 returns 2 bubblers and a 3ft sheer descent, do you think it is necessary to go with a secondary smaller pump?
I have a Hayward super II 2hp in the plans now...
also on the sunshelf considering its size 8 x 14 2 smaller led's or 1 should be enough?

Shotcrete is in! Installers recommend watering it helps with curing it harder?
I am a little concerned on the steps. I was going to add s 4th but they brought the bottom area of pool up slightly. From the bench it's 10" the bottom 2 are 11" Should I add a smaller one in

the corner or once filled with water not be an issue?

We have 12" steps and just started using the pool. It is steep but still usable. Unless they are going to resize all of the steps, I wouldn't add a small step at the bottom at this point. That's where you get the most buoyancy anyway. I think you'll be okay with 11".

One other comment, if it's still an option. The drop off from the bench may be a risk/concern. Have you considered extending the bottom step to the bench? I have found most people like to enter our pool from the shelf even though our design is similar in that a full set of steps is off to the side and connected.

Thanks what are your thoughts on the pump question?
I have 4 returns, vacuum line, 2 bubblers and a 3' sheer descent. Currently have a 2HP pump going in. PB recommended a 1HP secondary boost pump for water features and the 2hp for the returns, thoughts? About $400 I think...also did you like the look of the tile on your sunshelf, I haven't thought of that option...

I say go for the feature pump. I don't have one but I wish I did (for bubblers). The more flexibility the better. I really do like the marker tile on the sunshelf. In addition to an accent it also acts as a warning of the drop off (our shelf meets the deepest part of the pool in the middle). The only comment I have on the marker tile is to make sure whatever grout is used will blend with the plaster color, or ensure the PB uses the actual plaster to fill the tile voids instead of grout.

Based on recommendations, I added another feature pump for bubblers/sheer descent. I also had them pour an 8 ft pad for equipment install, here is a few pics of the plumbing work[emoji3]
Coping tile tomorrow/electrician Thursday.....getting closer [emoji106]

Nice and clean looking! SWEET! Glad you got a bigger pad! You sure needed it!

How big is your house to have 3  ac units???

Kim:kim:

The house is about 4165 sq ft.
Unfortunately the equipment/ac could not be on side of home due to property/easements so I planted podocArpus hedge to block 16' of both, that will fit well between screen and equipment. One ac is living one upstairs and one master bedroom area [emoji106]
They are going to have to mount the pool control box on a stick per code in front of a/c the electric run to the house is too far away...

Coping and tile set, pool beam wall had to be widened 4" to hide plumbing on sheer descent now 12" wide, tiled front and back. Clean up next and travertine deck next week!

Travertine deck is on! A little sandy still but looks great! I included a pic of the stone wet. I prefer that look so I plan to seal the deck soon. Not sure if it's best to wait to seal until after screen gets put on or prior? Here are some pics..

That all looks nice! I do like the look when it is wet. I think the question to do the sealing is 6 of one, half a dozen of another............meaning it can go both ways. There are up sides and down sides to both. One down side to doing after the cage is trying to make sure you do not get the sealer on the cage. The one down side to doing it before the cage is someone scraping the sealer off.
