I am required to have bench d/t the code here. I rather have it continuous than disjointed with corners sticking out...so not sure what to do!
What is the code? We might be able to come up with something else if we know the details. I have an idea but need more info.

Okay then I have just the idea for you! See that corner over by the spa? Put a small, rounded "step" there. Make it big enough to get two feet or a fanny on. The height you will have to think about. Do you want to just be able to stand on it to chat with those in the spa or would you like to be able to sit on it to chat with them? If you have it at the sitting height then someone could get out of the spa and step on it to cool off in the pool for a bit.
