New Build in NE FL

Been slow around here. Finally got the majority of the forms removed and 95% of the back fill (couldn't get between house and pool with machine) competed. Plumbing starts this coming week. Lightstream tile should ship on the 15th.

We have had some rain plus the ground water coming up from the pipe in the bottom of the pool so we now have a few feet of water in the pool but they don't want us to pump it out as the water is helping to push the shell down. I have inquired about the cost to go to a tighter meh screen as we have an influx of bugs with the hotter weather that has reminded me how much I hate them lol

That's all for now...some pics of the gross water

Why not put in a couple of gals of bleach? Stir it up and you will have a sparkling clear water puddle:D Then take a pic of you on a float.

Are they going to fill that area by wheelbarrow and shovels? That will be nice when they do as it will be the end of worry about that area.

LOL on cleaning up that water! I would do it just because the picture will be great!

How far away from the house is that closest pool edge? Mine will be close also and I'm wondering how close I can safely get. Looks great!

So on the deep end where the bench is, it 6' 6" including tbe bench. On the shallow end, it is 4' 6". Both measure from the corner of the house diagonally out (see original drawing on first post on page 1). Once the pavers are set along with the coping that has a small overhang, it will make it about 5' 8" from the deep end without the bench, since it is in the water, and 4' 8" on shallow end.

I am not afraid of a little brown ground water lol I have swam in our pond before! Plus the leaves really help with the color. But it finally cooled off here at the end of the week and this weekend with morning temps in the low to mid 40s and day time temps mid 60s to low 70s so a tad cool for a dip! Hah

Glad to know this is normal!

I assume they will have to manually fill in the last spot as there is no other way to get to it.

Plumbers came today!! Didn't start out on a good foot as I saw them digging a huge trench around the pool and working towards my oak tree. I called the PB to discuss my concerns of where they were digging and he called the head guy to remind him to dig the back area right next to the shell. 8 mins later and I look out there and they are just in front of my tree, 3 feet off of the shell and digging a huge trench into my roots!!

When I go out there to say hey you gotta hug the shell, the head guy who was busy on his phone chimes in "oh yeah gotta stay close to the shell bc of the tree". Way to get off your stupid phone and tell the digger guy bc he had no idea. They also mentioned they were slammed so I didn't want them doing this super fast to get done with it and damage my tree further. It really shouldn't have taken me fussing at them for the head guy to speak up. Then I heard them through the window comment that our little dog got out of the pen and they saw the dog catcher driving up the road and "Hahah looks like hes going to doggie jail" instead of knocking on the door to tell us he got out!! >:-/ Nevermind that our entire property is fenced and has an automatic gate but still... What kind of people can't even have commom decency to not talk about the home owners pet like that? And then I find a cigarette pack floating in the pool when they left. Just rude and trashy. Not impressed by their professionalism at all.

Also, first guys set the bubblers too high so PB told plumbers to fix it and when we mentioned it to them today, they were not happy and didn't want to do it and said they would leave it for that crew to come back and do. I find that unprofessional as well bc if the PB is paying you to do it, then do it! Our dig and rebar crew was awesome...these guys, not so much!

Anyway, here are pics from what they did today. They will be back tomorrow to finish.

Ugh! I would be so annoyed with their attitude. My tolerance level for bad service is below 0! That's why I was happy when I found a PB that employs the majority of their own subs. Its still not 100% foolproof but at least you know they are more likely to pay attention to quality control. It's so annoying when you just want people to do their jobs correctly and they seem to not realize that they are paid to do a job according to the homeowners specifications and not what's easiest for them. The site manager should be there to ensure they are doing the job according to the plans! I hope it goes better tomorrow...

OH Adult word NO! I would be VERY nervous with them by the house if that is how they act about "following directions"!

And the dog out??????? and not saying anything to you????? They are lucky to be able to work the next day.

I would be setting up a table and chair outside to watch them and make sure they do what they are supposed to do and HOW!

 I am sure it was very stressful so go pour yourself a cold one!

I told the PB and I assume he doesn't trust them to do the bubblers properly so now has removed the pipe for the gas lines and the bubblers from their list and will have their dig crew back out (the good guys) for the screen footer and have them run the pipes for the gas lines and repair bubbler height.

They don't know that I heard the comment about the dog but regardless, they knew that we were home.

I have no idea if they did it all right. He did show my husband how he labeled the pipes and what not. These guys plumb all of the main pools here in town, even for the big, fancy top company.

PB has been out here during everything so far except the back fill part (that was rescheduled a few times bc of rain) and had to move some people around to accommodate the Lightstream tile time frame so moved the plumbers up.

Had a better plumber install a spicket inside the screen area before the water line was buried. He was cheap too, just wanted a plate of dinner. His assistant didnt say or do much but was good for moral support.
