New Build in NE FL

Guys working hard on finishing rebar now. He's propping the rebar off ground now. Inspector gadget will be here at 3 pm.

Pool builders said this was definitely a booger one of the top 5 worse ones they've dealt with framing and digging. He's very anxious to get shotcrete on it tomorrow and breathe a sigh of relief. Obviously the longer it goes on the heftier his bill will be.

Yeah, I remember my PB saying he always breathes that same sigh after gunite because at that point it's more or less bullet proof.

Inspector came and we are good to go. They are finalizing the spa jets, bubblers, and lights and will be all done tonight. Shotcrete coming at 7am.

I have to make a decision though. Do I want a small half moon step down to the sun shelf or not? The shelf is 10" deep, then 3" from water line to coping, then 2" of coping. So 15" step total. They will form that out tomorrow when shooting so I have to figure this out tonight. And if we do want it, I have to decide where to put it...

I am fairly confident that we will need this step. We just ran tests on a 12.5" step and that's probably my max with my back. Where do we position this step? Over near the doors to the patio or near the steps on the opposite side?

Will get pics of it once we get home with the finished plumbing and what not.

Green place! It is more natural...........walk out the door straight into the pool using the step then jump into the deeper part or walk across the shelf to the pool steps.

OR you can move the other steps over by the door as well!!!!! I can't tell if they have rebar for them yet.

Oh happy day! Are you going to be able to be there the whole time they do it? Some times they have ideas or questions. It is better you have a say in it then they just do what they think you want. I really think you do not have to worry about your crew as they really seem to be a good set of builders!

I went out this am and spoke to the PB about the little step and what not but after an hour or so, I went to lay down as I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep due to a migraine the night before and left hubby out there with them.

Pool looks amazing. I am especially impressed by the stairs as they were formed by hand. Straight lines are one thing but to get a straight line with those curves and do it so well, mark me impressed. The bubblers are too tall so they left a dip around where they will be and will fill that in once the bubblers are cut down. Everything looks really good. Neither concrete people or PB recommended watering and these concrete guys shoot for like the top 5 PB in the area (even the most expensive, "elite" company). My PB said it wasn't something we need to do but if I read something online and want to water it, go ahead. Lol poor guy knows I go online and read so much stuff.

So pics!

The horses are clearly unimpressed by all the activity

You can see why we need a screen over it...
