New Build in Houston Area

I think that will work! Well done! What is the height from the floor under that table to the bench? How high is the floor from the pool floor?

Sorry for the delayed response. I had to measure it, but I was out of town for a while. From the floor under the table to the bench is 2 feet and from that floor to the pool floor is one foot.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I haven’t and have told them to remove it because it makes no sense to me. I don’t know why anyone would have anything from their pool equipment attached to their fence. They are moving it but I don’t think experienced pool builders should have ever done this in the first place.

sigh.....................yah some one is trying to cheap out!

It is really annoying. The project manager was not here when that took place. He did not understand it when I texted him about it. My wife told me he came to my house and told them that they had to take it off the fence. Like all of us, I am paying a lot of money and don’t want anyone going cheap and cheesy on this project. Ugghhhhhh!! Everything was going so well.

They took them off the fence and created a panel. I don’t have a wall for them to attach it so they had to create one. My pool is on a lower level than the house so that necessitated a need for them to create a panel. It’s sturdy.

Carlos, your heater control panel is facing the fence, granted you don’t really access it that often, but when you need to check it …….

I spoke with the project manager and he also said I would rarely need to use that control panel. However, he also said that the panel flips around if I needed to see it.

Carlos,

I agree with pjt about the table in the pool.

Nothing good will happen with a table in the pool. Some things look cool, but have zero functionality... Other than the first week, it will never get used and just get in the way of everything.

If you are looking for a place to save a few bucks that would be a great place to start.

Thanks,

Jim R.
Copy that. I had an in-pool table earmarked for our pool but after further research (especially on TFP), I decided against it. One issue I kept coming back to was having the robotic cleaner's cord possibly wrapping around it during the cleaning process. I think Jim R was in my ear, as well...

Attached are renderings with and without the table.

Update - I just saw your post regarding your wife wanting the table. Therefore regarding my comments above, "never mind" (with all due respect to Roseanne Roseannadanna).

I would also suggest you paint or seal that wood post and board. You do not want that to rot in a years time or so. I would also ask them to turn the top of the heater so the controls is facing outward. It is not an issue to do that, but to me it signifies the installer does not take pride in his work. He needs to make it all functional for the user (you).

They did say that they were going to paint and seal the post and board. Thank you.

Whatever cleaner you purchase, try to ensure the cleaner cannot get into the table area. You will just need to brush the seats and floor to the open pool area. A little work but happy life as they say.

Well after a month of work we are at the tile and coping stage. This seems to be very detailed oriented work. I am looking at the tile being placed on the spa and margarita table. My goodness it’s time consuming. It’s amazing watching this all come together. Are there any things that people notice that I should be aware of based upon these pictures?

That spa overflow is going to be very interesting to see when it is on!

What are their plans for the one inside corner? Are the outside edges smooth to the touch? Is there a overlap on the top tiles?
The spa overflow is to be a cascade spillway. The 3-D design makes it look very nice. I am not sure what you mean about the inside corner. The outside edges are very smooth to the touch. An overlap of the tiles? I don’t see that. I have taken some additional pictures after they left. Perhaps this could help.

In this pic look where the to corners come together. See that blank spot where there is not tiles? With the skills I see on the table I am sure they fixed it but would love to see how.

Overlap-It almost looks like some of the top tiles stick out a bit. It might just be the pictures though.

That table is SPOT ON!!! They nailed that!

I know some people have had valid points about the table, but my first thought at reading your specs a couple minutes ago was MARGARITA TABLE?!?!?! I NEED ONE!

Now my situation of an AGP doesn't allow it, but I have a little DIY PVC table that hangs over the side that I very frequently eat snacks off of. Sometimes dinner, don't judge. But I am 100% on board with your table and look forward to hearing how it works out in the future. I am also adding this to my never knew I needed list. 🍻
