New build - Buffalo NY

That pool is worth taking a day off for! PRETTY water color!

I wonder if you could put some low growing bushes there? Low shedding also! LOL

:kim:

Whatever I do it'll be next season. I underestimated how much landscaping there will be. Thankfully the PB graded all the dirt, I thought I was going to have to do all that, there was nothing in the contract about it and it wasn't something I had thought of before signing.

It is going to be a fight for a while. Some take 3 months, some as long as a year for the plaster to fully cure. Keep up the fight.

Where is your TA? If the TA is over 80 maybe you can beat on the PH every two or so hours to help push the TA down.

Haven tested TA in a few days, it was at 100 last I checked. I did get the ph down to 7.2 today.

Also borrowed my neighbors robot......and now I'll be getting a robot.

What kind of heat pump do you have? 8 degrees in 10.5 hours doesn't sound too bad for a heat pump in Buffalo in October. What was the outside temp?

It's a pentair ultratemp 110. Weather started out in mid 50's and topped out at 75ish. I guess it's not terrible, I forgot to check it this morning but I should hear about it soon if it's not at least 80 as the kids have a half day of school and everyone is going swimming.

What is the BTU rating of the heat pump? I get about two degrees an hour with my Pentair MasterTemp 400,000 BTU gas heater.

BTU depends on the outside temperature, the 110 i have maxes out at 108k btu(the 120 which i had spec'd maxes out at 127k btu)

Got a fence installed and grass is growing.

Bought a dolphin nautilus plus robot and have been very happy with it's performance, it even climbs up on the sun shelf and gets that area.

One thing I have noticed is that I seem to have a dead spot on my sun shelf where all the surface junk collects when the wind is out of the south

I've got the same dead spot. It helps when I leave the bubbler on but still collects small patches of fine dirt..I just run the brush over it :)

Oh look! A little  SO CUTE!

Funny how the wind and such influences stuff in the pool. I wonder if you could turn a return so it pushes it off?

Kim:kim:

I have a return just for that purpose but it's not really the dirt on the sunshelf(although that happens) it's the floating stuff. The nice thing is the rest of the pool is spotless because all the surface stuff is in one spot. If I aim the return to push away the surface stuff it settles on the other side of the sun shelf, the sun shelf is big, I should have pushed for 2 returns on it instead of just the one.
