New build, 10X20 vinyl, 3'to 5', S. Carolina

Pool man had to dig deeper and wider than planned to clear the debris. Then back filled with a load and a half of rock. This was the end of the first day. Hopefully when I get home today the walls will be up and the footing poured, it's supposed to rain tomorrow.:D

Hi, we are also building a 10 x 20 pool but ours is concrete. Congratulations on your dig starting. It’s exciting but also nerve wracking waiting to see what they’ll find underground. It looks like they dealt with the unexpected trees quickly. Hopefully that’s it for surprises for you. We had some buried roots from a tree we removed. They were huge given that the tree wasn’t all that big. I hope he rain holds off for you for the rest of the dig.

Got the walls up and footing poured today. Filled in the sloped wall and shelf with concrete

In to watch this one! Love what I see so far!

I like the idea of moving the door. Guessing you have kids. That will make things that much safer!

You are going to have water in that pool fast. Might want to see what test kit the PB is providing. Let us know so we can fill in any holes!

I have a new tfp kit ready to go. This is my second pool, previous pool was 28000 gallons from the same builder, Hewitt Pools, highly recommend him if you are in the area. I used bleach with the old pool, so looking forward to having a swg :p and a heater.

Just one, 3 years old. We are very excited to have a pool once again. I stumbled upon the BBB method years ago just before this site opened. There was another site and the owner kinda went awol. This site has really grown into a nice place.

/QUOTE]

Part of my ploy for building our pool - not only to keep our kids home longer, but to one day make our house more attractive to our grandchildren. Just have to hope the other grandparents don’t have a bigger and better one!

You’re making great progress. Building a second pool with the same company is fantastic. You know they build great pools and know what you would have liked in your previous pool. I think that’s a lot of the stress involved in building for the first time. You are going to have a great build!

Nice progress so far, if I would have known about your builder I likely would have went with him as we’re only about 45 minutes from y’all. Hopefully the warmer weather gets here soon, going to crank up the heater this weekend and get the swim season started!
