New AquaLink RS turns on both pool heater and spa heater in Spa Mode

I just upgraded from a 10-year-old Aqualink RS to the new RS8 version (rev. T) and added iAqualink along with my existing hard-wired One-Touch panel and SpaLink controller. I have separate spa and pool systems (a pump and heater for each) and they connect only by a diverter valve that sends some pool water to the spa for a spillover when selected.

Everything is wired as it was on the old Aqualink RS board, but something is amiss with the heater controls. Even when the spa pump is on, if I'm not in Spa Mode I can't turn on the spa heater like I could before; the interface shows the spa heater as on but not as "heating" (like it would if the pump were off). If I select Spa Mode and turn on the spa heater, it starts up but the pool heater also starts up, and if I then try to turn off the pool heater, it doesn't respond to the command (presumably because I'm in Spa Mode). If I am not in Spa Mode and I turn on the pool heater (with the pool pump running), the pool heater starts up as expected.

Also (and maybe related), the iAqualink app and web interface as well as the One-Touch panel now display only either the spa temp or the pool temp but not both when both pumps are running. They show the spa temp if in Spa Mode and the pool temp otherwise.

It seems like maybe the Aqualink board doesn't understand that I have dual systems rather than a combo system, but all the jumpers are the same as they were on the old board.

Any answers or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks, kimkats. I just finished rechecking all wiring and it seems right. Both heaters are gas 24V. The pool heater is wired to terminals 1 and 2 on the sensor board (labeled "Pool Low Voltage Heater" on the wiring diagram and labeled "LVH" on the board). The spa heater is wired to a spa heater interface board, which in turn is wired to the spa heater relay socket (labeled ""Spa heater Interface Board (Dual Heaters Only) on the wiring diagram and labeled "E-HTR" on the board).

All DIP switches are off except for S1 #1 and S1 #3. In particular, S1 #6 is off; the manual says this about it:

S1 DIP #6 ON
(Combo Systems, Pool and Spa)
Change Spare AUX to activate when Filter Pump is on and system is in spa mode.
(Dual Equipment)
This switch only applies to DUAL EQUIPMENT systems. When OFF a separate heater is used for the pool and spa. When ON the pool and spa share the same heater.

I also have discovered a very dangerous aspect of this problem. When in Spa Mode (and the pool heater is on along with spa heater), the system doesn't know that the pool heater is on, so if I turn off the pool pump or the programmed off-time occurs, the pump isn't kept on for a cool-down period. Likewise, the opposite happens if not in Spa Mode and the pool heater is on (which turns the spa heater on also); turning off the spa pump doesn't leave the pump on for a cool-down period. That's a major issue, obviously.

Thanks, kadavis. I wondered if it could be an issue with multiple controllers too, but I disconnected the 485 connections for iAqualink and AquaPure, leaving just the One-Touch panel and SpaLink panel that I've had for 10 years (such that the only difference from the working setup previously was the new RS8 board). The heater behavior was the same. I also did it the other way around, disconnecting the old One-Touch and SpaLink controllers, leaving iAquaLink as the only controller (plus the AquaPure as the only other 485 connection). Will be calling Jandy today.
