Hey TFPers,

We're going to be moving to a new house in a few months and are already planning a new pool build.

Following the good advice and support articles here, we've sourced a number of quotes and expect a few more to come in shortly. The short of it is we've asked for a 35x15 Fiberglass inground shell with an at-least middle of the pick equiptment package including automation, and to have an optional price line item for an auto cover (I think I'll like do it even if its a painfully expensive element to add).

The builder we've liked the most and seems to have very good reviews has provided us the following quote, and I'd love some opinions on if this seems to be a reasonable ballpark range for my area.

35x15 Latham Pools Olympia 16 Fiberglass Pool with G3 Finish
Jandy equipment package (photo attached):
- Jandy FloPro Variable speed pump (1.65HP)
- Jandy 460 sqft Cartridge Filter
- Jandy JXI 260k BTU Gas Heater
- TruClear Salt Sell (11k)
- 300W Hayward light transformer
- Jandy Pro Series RGBW S-Series Lights (x2)
- Aqualink RS4 Power Panel, RS4 Control System and Aqualink network module
- Includes 3 returns, 1 skimmer and all 2" plumbing
- Includes a sump pit/well to deal with groundwater / hydrostatic pressure
- Proper gravel backfill
- Repairs and reconditioning to any yard/fence damage done during install (the access is pretty easy, this should be very minimal).

Installed Price /w 3ft of concrete decking and a paver coping - $144,285.00
Installed Price /w 3ft of Unilock pavers (instead of concrete) and paver coping - $150,855.00
Price to add autocover to either of the above quotes - $33,335.00

All these prices are taxes in and in CAD. In general, I feel these numbers are a little high (15-20%) based on some other things I've read, but I'd love if there are any Southern Ontarioer's or GTA folks who could give me some bearings on the going rate for a fiberglass install.

Get two skimmers so that if one skimmer has a problem your pool is not shutdown. Both skimmers should be home run to equipment pad with shutoff diverter valves.

No flex PVC to be used. All schedule 40 rigid PVC.

All diverter valves and no ball valves to be used.

Aquapure is a more robust system then TruClear.

Thanks!

More robust in the sense it'll have more longevity?

To the point above ^^^^^^ and below vvvv

Don't settle or skimp with the backbone of your operation. Steal funds from anywhere else if you need to, even the pool size, which is my *2nd* thing to never ever skimp on. :ROFLMAO:

For the money you're spending, I'd want the 2.7 HP pump, a 400k btu heater in Canada and the 40k / aquapure 1400 SWG. The 460 sw ft carts are top notch already. (y)

You will not regret the auto cover. Best money I spent.

Thanks. This was kind of my initial thinking as well, this quote is on the upper end of the spectrum of those we've received so far and I felt it was a little lacking, even though this does seem so far to be the most knowledgeable and best builder of the bunch.
