Anyone here have any experience with Neptune 2.7 THP Motor NPTQ270? The Neptune seems to be far less expensive. The Century motor is discontinued but some as still available in the 'wild west web.'

Have installed three of the Neptune motors in the last two years (one came on a new pump). They are somewhat new, but there have been no issues so far. Nidec is a good manufacturer.

$599.99 but out of stock. I swear it was $549.99 earlier this morning. Another concern I have is suppliers are saying if control module goes bad, you have to replace the entire pump.

- Inyo says the CENTURY VGREEN 270 Variable Speed Motor Square Flange 2.7THP ECM27SQU is a direct replacement without changing impeller or diffuser

Will install the same as the V-Green, no need to change either.

@JamesW - I like them so far. Very easy to operate. Programming is a breeze. A heck of lot easy to wire up than my ancient AO Smith workhorses. Still watching/adjusting the programming: At the moment, I 1) start them at 2700 rpm for 3 hours for my Poolvergnuegen. 2) then 4 hours at 2150rpm for my Circupool generator. 3) final 3 hours at 1400rpm. Already seeing 27% drop on my home KwH. Now I'm considering replacing my ancient Pentair Challenger spa jet and Waterfall motors. I suspect Nidec/US Motors Neptune 2.70 THP Variable Speed Motors (NPTQ270) might be overkill so looking at something simpler but more efficient - any suggestions?
